    He wouldn't fare well against the Big 4 welters of the 80s (Leonard, Duran, Hearns, Benitez).

    Spence is competitive with the 90s group of welters but I don’t see him beating them.

    I don’t think he’s all that competitive with the top 80s guys.

    Film doesn't lie ... 20s guys were pioneers, proto-modern ... 30s guys were better, more modern... they both look primitive compared to the best guys in the 40s

    Spence would have the best chance against Ike out of the 4 because he’s the least explosive, but he’d have a helluva time getting past that jab. I see him getting frozen with it then smacked with combos when he shells up or tries to angle away from it.

    I don’t think I’d take Spence over Vargas at this point either. Vargas was a better pure boxer with a better defense, the bigger man, and maybe even a little quicker than Spence.
