Reportedly the script for the next one is so good that J.J. Abrams himself expressed remorse of not signing to direct it.

Perhaps the reason is that the lead actor is black and the actress is white? Perhaps we will see some hot black on white action in Episode VIII and IX.
I am disappointed that Finn is not a Jedi. Would be nice to see that he is a Jedi in the next episodes.

Absolutely! Reboot those mamajamas! Make them consistent with teh original three films. Make Anakin a strong and likable character this time.

 

That is exactly the reason. if he were a white actor they would have kissed at least once. Instead they hug and then when he's in the coma she kisses his forehead. Hollywood is still uncomfortable with interracial love.

 

The characters just met each other in like a 3 day span at best. Let it build. It will happen. They wrote the Rey character as a strong woman so they won't go to that right away.

 

But...but...that would hurt George Lucas feelings and screw the established canon again. :scared:

Plus even on A NEW HOPE there were only hugs, not kisses since, after all, they just met. BUT if Rey turns into a Jedi, she must take a celibacy oath...or will turn to the dark side like Anakin!

 

how come Lea the Jedi spread her legs for Han Solo? Why did prinses Lea not turn to the Dark side?

 

because Leia is NOT a Jedi, never was trained to become a padawan nor to wield the Force. Leia is 'Force sensitive', but she hasn't been drawn into it like Luke or now, Rey.

 

But...but...look at those lightsabers moves!!!

 

For some reason it's still such a taboo.

But exactly WHOM does it make uncomfortable? I mean in this day and age, we see interracial relationships all the time, especially down here in south Florida.

 

Not shown in the movie, perhaps the most discussed scene in the trailers: Maz Kanata passing Luke's lightsaber to Leia.

He might have a point. In Pacific Rim the lead actor Raleigh and Mako the Japanese chick had a crush on eachother but they only hugged in the end. No kiss.

I agree with you too, but I think that while Finn has a secret crush on Rey, she sees him more like a friend. They are saving the romance angle for the next one when she meets the dashing smart ass rogue pilot, Poe Dameron, and fells for him like a schoolgirl provoking jealousy in Finn. The love triangle will not be resolved until the third movie, Episode IX. That is the way the original trilogy was supposed to do, before blewing it with the 'Leia is my sister! Gee, I masturbated so many times lusting on my own sister! EEEEWWWW!!!!"

 

I'm talking specifically about black and white interracial love, when I say Hollywood is uncomfortable with it. White and Hispanic and Black and hispanic, white and Asian and Black and Asian are deemed acceptable.

Only time white and black is seen is when the story is specifically focused on that as part of the plot, e.g. "Jungle Fever"....or some films on racism when mixed race relationship was part of the story. Hollywood never drops it in as if it is normal....and is especially uncomfortable if it is a black man and a white woman. Black women and white men are somewhat tolerable ("the Bodyguard", "Monster's Ball" and some Bond films), but don't let that black man near those precious white women!

In the book for "The Pelican Brief" the characters played by Denzel and Roberts had sex...but in the film they left it at smiles and hugs.

I have seen it in a couple TV shows, written by very liberal black writers "Grey's Anatomy" and "Private Practice", but that's about it.

 

But the plot (and backstory) was superb.

 

I also want to interject that when the white/black interacial love occurs in movies not being the main plot the race issue, is usually a male white actor and a gorgeous black lady with light skin or with strong Caucasian facial features.
