The REAL Lando is back! Billy Dee Williams is returning to his iconic role for Star Wars Episode IX. The 81 year old will be the oldest cast member to return to the franchise.

I think this was a strategic tactic from Lucasfilm to toss a bone (old bone) to hardcore SW fans who are calling for a boycott of Episode IX: the temptation to go watch Lando again will be too much for many of them.

Disney has cancelled Rian Johnson's new trilogy and is now fired! The boycott of 'SOLO" was noticed at Disney's bank accounts and they are trying to correct the mistakes. Kathleen Kennedy continues AWOL with zero public appearances or tweets in months which many think it means she was quietly demoted as Lucasfilm CEO. However this decisions in the right direction, IMO there is no turning back from the damage done by 'The Last Jedi'. Most fans still have no interest in watching Episode IX.
Another casualty is the Obi Wan Kenobi film. Ewan McGregor went public stating there are no plans for a Kenobi film at the present time.

There was no Solo “boycott” it was just a lame looking movie that tried to “update” two iconic characters instead of bring them back to life.

No surprise Johnson is out. Still going to be hard for the series to rebound. They had a solid storyline going then they seemed ecstatic to let this idiot in and rip it all up.

Well there isn't anything official confirming of Johnson being out or not. Kathleen Kennedy continues AWOL and we wonder if she is alive. I hope Johnson does get his film green lighted so when it bombs massively I can relish at the stupidity of Disney keeping this idiot.

 

Honestly...the last Jedi has made me question the authority of Rottentomatoes as a gauge for whether a film is good or not. It scored highly on that site and it was shit shit shit. What the hell were the critics watching? It wasn’t just a bad film from a Star Wars continuity perspective, it was a bad film period.

 

I don’t know if you’re referring to the professional movie critics or not but I do know the user reviews have been infected with millennial votes where they either give a movie they like a 10/10 or a movie they dislike a 1/10. This is the case for both RT and IMDB. You’re best option is to find a few balanced scores and read their review of the film.

 

Rottentomatoes Audience score was more accurate with 48% rotten. This generation of professional movie critics are all SJW and when presented with PC shit, they give it glowing reviews whereas audience will give it a massive thumbs down. The opposite is true too: recent example 'Peppermint' was trashed by critics with 13% rotten score mainly because the film failed in their eyes to present a positive role model lead female character, it failed to be PC in other words, whereas the Jennifer Garner character could have been played by a male actor as the blood thirsty revenge seeking character in a straight action film. Audiences on the other hand liked the film and gave it a 78% score.

 

I’ve always been interested in seeing this one. I always love vigilante films. Good genre.

the dumb fans have yet to realise that there will be dozens of Star Wars movies, and they'll be redone with different actors to accommodate various timelines....it'll be on the level of Spiderman/Batman/Superman movies where there's a new actor every few years

The real joke with this franchise is that not a single film after ROTJ has lived up to expectations. The best you’ve been able to get from the franchise is...”it was ok”.

 

This is the only relevant thing about anything Star Wars-based and one that, as a kid who became less interested with Star Wars as each movie came out, I can relate to.

 

Yup. And Rian Johnson is still making a trilogy. Disney didn't listened to fans. They will lose millions of dollars as many fans will not show up for the opening weekend of the next SW IX and definitely will boycott Rian Johnson's first (and hopefuly only) film of his 'original trilogy'...unless it is about Darth Maul...in that case I will be first in line! LOL
