apparently, Riggs-Hieron is on the prelims. I still think they'll show it due to other fights ending early, but clearly this is one of the more competitive fights on the card....and deserves to be shown more so than others.
I just read an article over at sherdog, one of those "pros pick" articles about Diaz and Zaromskis. The pros picked Diaz 20-0. These are also the same guys that picked Penn over GSP in their rematch. We should probably be changing our picks to Zaromskis.::
I don't think Zaromskis is going to get subbed at soon as it gets to the ground. Diaz is good but he's no Jacare. And Z is no amateur. He's shown a decent guard in Dream.
I may be exaggerating a little bit, but Zaromskis wants none of Diaz on the ground because he will get submitted. However, I can see Diaz having too much confidence in his stand up and resorting to make it a stand up battle.
Yes but it is very hard to just go down to the ground and sub someone. That rarely happens outside of guys like Randleman or Guillard, or an elite BJJ guy like Jacare or Maia. And even Maia didn't exactly put away MacDonald in the blink of an eye. It was quite an entertaining ground war.
Great points. Diaz has never been known for his takedowns. Z is a strong SOB with really good takedown defense. Diaz might be in for a rude awakening here. Diaz is extremely well rounded. But we know his standup is not going to scare Z. If he can't show he can take Z down expect Z end this on his feet. On a sidenote, isn't Jacare's BJJ in a class of its own? The guy is sick.:cheer:
Maia is world class BJJ, but I think Jacare's pure physical strength puts him in a different league when it comes to using BJJ in MMA.
Can't wait for this card......butttttttttttttttttttttttt....I won't be able to watch it live as I have to go out for my father in law's birthday, so the DVR is set and I'll watch it when I get home. Hopefully someone does a RBR or at least posts results in my absense. TFK
was Herschel Walker a great footballer? Or just a pretty good one? Was he one of those awesome college players but never lived up to the expectations as a pro?
Lashley is much shorter than I thoughT, I thought he was a 6'5'' kind of guy. Lashley took Sims down and put down some gnp, simms gave up his back, lashley connected with a punch and the ref stepped in.
