But in a tournament, something like that may get passed over.

I mean, are they going to delay a round or something because a pair of judges or a ref botch a fight to holy hell?

This is a tournament of hometown fights...hopefully it doesn't become an issue.

If you ran a sportsbook, would you have somebody other than Kessler as the betting favorite?

Since it's a point system i'd like to believe that can be avoided. I think the odds are less likely one guy gets robbed twice. Hopefully the extra point for a KO victory gives the fighters some extra incentive to take it out of the judges hands as well. If a ref botches any of the fights, you can be sure they won't be assigned to another one in the same tourney.

I gotta go with Kessler to win. I think Ward and Direll can make it to the final.

Kessler is great. The only question mark on him is how great.

Abraham beats up Taylor after a bad first round and stops him in eight.

Dirrell hits Froch at will and stops him on cuts after six. If it goes the distance, Dirrell runs the last two rounds and wins 9-3 or 10-2.

i'd like to see Kessler win it all, but he's definitely not a lock. it wouldn't surprise me at all if abraham won.

also, i have a feeling that ward is going to give kessler fits and will provide to be a very difficult challenge.

REED'll Stop SHORT of Picking Ward Right Now...However, if ANYBODY is Capable of Mimicking the Blueprint that Calzaghe Used to Beat Kessler, it's Ward...

REED would have Kessler as the Favorite Over Ward, Sure...But Past That, it would Depend on HOW the Matchups Fall & HOW the Guys Looked in their Previous Fights...This Tournament is a Potential Sportsbook NIGHTMARE...

Ward & Kessler Fight 1st...Even w/the Points System, it's Basically INCONCEIVABLE that they'd have a RE in the Final...

Incredibly, the UK bookmakers have Froch as favourite to win I'm told. Kessler is second favourite at 9-4

The Smurf will stop Taylor within 10. I haven't seen much of Dirrell but I do know Froch is a tough SOB with a decent beard so I'm going with Froch later stoppage.

Well, I guess it's because it's in the UK.

Over at The Greek, the order is...Mikkel Kessler, Arthur Abraham, Carl Froch, Andre Ward, Jermain Taylor, Andre Dirrell.

I think Taylor should be last. I'd favor all 5 over JT at this point.

Why? I'd guess they will want to put fighters who have already fought each other on opposite sides of the bracket.

    Based on my eyes.
    Based on his record.
    Based on his dominance.
Based on being competitive with one of the top 3 fighters of his era.

He's talented, but the least proven out of the whole group. He might the win the whole thing but you have to look at it from the oddsmaker's perspective.

Hmm, I wonder if the odds he was speaking about were what they opened at. I can't really see Froch opening as the favorite. That is just crazy.

    1. What Makes YOUR Eye's Special???...
    2. His Record Against Who, the Librado Andrade's, Markus Beyer's & Anthony Mundine's of the World???...Can U Name a Fighter that's Taken an EASIER Path to "Greatness" than That???...As EASY as it is to Gain Entry to Boxing's Hall of Fame, Kessler DOESN'T Have Even ONE Win Over a Guy that'll Make it, as of Yet...

    3. When's the Last Time he was "Dominant" Against an ELITE Fighter or a Future HOF'er???...Shit, when was the FIRST Time???...

    4. He was "Competitive" for about HALF the Fight, then he was DOMINATED Over the 2nd Half of It...Big Deal...

Mikkel Kessler COULD B Great, but there's Absolutely NATHAN that Suggests or Validates his Greatnes RIGHT NOW...Just Say U LIKE Kessler & Leave it @ that Until Fuuuuuurther Notice, Aight???...

REED you must be taking your medication on this one.

Kessler has not proven himself to be a historically great fighter yet, true. But anyone with a pair of eyes can see he's the best SMW in the world right now.

If that were as Evident as U're Saying, there'd B NOfuckingPOINT in the Tournament...Instead, they'd have a Tournament to Find a Suitable Challenger for the "Great" Mikkel Kessler...We'll "See" How Kessler Fares in the Tournament...REED's Rolling w/Abraham &/or Dirrell...
