Oh, by the way, two of the three judges gave Dillashaw Round 1. Tony Weeks just happened to give Cruz both rounds 4 and 5.

Like I said, Cruz got a little lucky.

The point is that there isn't anything lucky about Cruz fighting well enough in all 5 rounds to make each close enough that they COULD be scored for him.

In my opinion, Dillashaw was far more lucky to get 4 rounds on one judges card. D'Amato giving him rounds 1 and 3 was a stretch.

Cruz was lucky to win this fight, since it was a fight that definitively could have gone the other side. By the same account, Dileshaw would also have been lucky if the judges gave him that fight.

Imo, that fight should have been a draw, but for a reason I don't undestant mma (and boxing) judges seems to have an aversion to score even rounds, hence why we get a winner in fights were neither fighters deserved to lose

yeah, I know I'm in the minority on this, but I think they should be a lot more draws in combat sport.

Here is what I know. This fight could have gone either way. Those rounds were way too close for anyone to judge with complete confidence. Nobody was lucky to win anything. this was no robbery of any kind.

Agreed, I was delighted Cruz got the result but I wouldn't be complain too much if T.J got the nod.

The Pettis fight was a disappointment, a boring affair with Alvarez neutralising his opponent. You gotta respect Eddie, he was dropped in at the deep end but he's 2-1 in the UFC.

It'a hard to give a lot of credit to ALvarez. In the two fights he won (imo, both fights he won could have gone either way), he looked like the fat japanese pro-wresler in Pride who sometime won against much better strikers by using their size and strenght to stall the action and pin their opponents in the corner.

I'm an alvarez fan but so far he's been adisapointement in the UFC, no matter what his record is.

I've been disappointed in Alvarez in the UFC too. He lost to Cowboy, then he won close decisions in 2 shitty fights in a row. Alvarez / Melendez and Alvarez / Pettis seemed like they were going to be great fights for the fans. Smothering Pettis might have been a good strategy to get a win, but it won't get him any fans. If he keeps fighting this way, I'll look forward to seeing him fight as much as I look forward to seeing Clay Guida (not at all).

REED Pledges NO Allegiance to EITHER Fighter....

Having Said That, It Was Fairly OBVIOUS Dominick Cruz Won, in REED's Opinion...Cruz Seemed to OUTSTRIKE T.J. Dillashaw (If Only Slightly), Exhibited Superior CAGE CONTROL, Landed Several TAKEDOWNS & was Faaaaaaaaaaaaaaar & Away the Better Fighter DEFENSIVELY...The Absolute BEST Case Scenario for Dillashaw was a DRAW...Yes, he was the Aggressor Throughout, but that Aggression was Largely INEFFECTIVE, Until the Last 2 Rounds...

Anthony Pettis is a Fucking ENIGMA...As TALENTED a Striker as You'll Ever See & 1 of the More DANGEROUS Fighters on the Planet, In SPACE...But CROWD Dude just a Little Bit & He's Completely INEPT...Sure, that Tactic is BORING to Watch, but Until Pettis Learns to OFFSET It, Every Single Pettis Opponent Should Employ the Same Strategy, Moving Forward...

Mr. Ronda Rousey vs. Meathead Mitrione COULD Have Been More Explosive, if Not for Mr. Rousey's Three Stooges Level, Eye Gouging Offense...

REED Would Give the Card a B, B - Overall....Undercard was Underwhelming, but the Main Event was a Quality, Uptempo Bout...

I think you are very generous. I wouldnt give it more than a C. The main event was a decent fight, but browne vs mitrione was crap, and pettis vs alvarez is an early candidate for worst fight of the year

Put it This Way, After 3 Rounds, T.J. Had to Do Something Pretty DRAMATIC, to Retain his Title...Yet he DIDN'T...
