Davis is in his prime RIGHT NOW. And its wasting. He's not 21-22 anymore. He is NOT NOT a guy who's gonna be elite in his mid 30s like Hopkins and Floyd were.
What's sad is that it started off well for him. He destroyed a solid fighter in Pedraza at only 22 years old. The future seemed bright. But he's stagnated.
I'd be shocked if Rolly did as good as Cruz. Tank will be back to his stoppage ways. What will bum will they dig up after? Are they running out?
Rolly will do nowhere near as good as Cruz. Cruz would beat Rolly within an inch of his life. Davis KOs him whenever, however he wants.
I think Rolly is banking on being similar to Mayorga. But Mayorga was much quicker and explosive, and far more durable.
I'm hoping this might be a situation where a fight gets talked about but due to backlash from fans and media the fight gets scrapped. Similar to Canelo vs Makabu.
So it looks like Tank vs Rolly is gonna be made official for June. Tank's disappointing career continues BUTTT..... I'm gonna order it, just to see Rolly get laid out.
Funny how it seems like Tank has his own weight division where he doesn't face anyone of note in either 135 or 140. I'll still watch Tank vs Rolly just to see that rollie pollie roll over.
no way in hell am i spending money for this. matchups like these are total slaps in the face to fans. rolly is completed unheralded and has zero chance of winning.
Rolly does have power, and Tank ain't some Mosley/Oscar level lightweight. So Romero does have a small chance. It's small though.
Exactly. We’ve seen countless guys with way less chance of winning than Romero pull off the surprise KO then go on to have very good careers, and of course hindsight rankings (“he was a top 10 guy going in, now a proven top 3”)..
Yup. We've seen truly great and dominate fighters like Tyson, Jones, and Curry get upset. We've seen Lewis lose to Rachman. Tank is merely a "good" fighter. If Rolly beat him, it would be the biggest upset of 2022 (well... unless Whyte beats Fury), but it wouldn't be anything historic.
No one is forcing you to. But didn't you pay to watch old man Thurman vs Barrios? If the undercard is decent, I'll order.
Today's press conference. Notable comment. Tank: "If it was personal between us, they woulda been packed em up. I woulda got the address, and n**gas woulda been at their house." SMH. Tank's gotta decide and decide really fast whether he wants to be a boxer, or a gangster. Anyway, I was thinking about going, but I probably won't.
Yeah. He looks pretty shook. He talks hella shit on camera when Tank is not around, but when they're face to face or next to eachother, he starts stuttering and looking nervous. I think this will end inside of 6.
Not gonna lie, I'm excited for this one. Rolly is looking JUST quick and awkward enough in training that I'm starting to think, "Well, maybe..." Don't get me wrong, I'm still picking Davis by KO, but no, I don't feel it's a foregone conclusion.
I'll be honest, I'm slowly getting excited for this. It seems like Rolly is training his ass off. If Tank is totally underestimating Rolly he could have a long night with him, much like Cruz. Tank also has his flaws that maybe Rolly sees. I just wanna see a good brawl, "street" style. If rollie pollie actually wins this then I'll definitely eat my humble pie.
Rolly is definitely in shape. And there’s a part of me that’s starting to get Forrest-Mayorga vibes from this one. You gotta wonder what happens if Rolly gets there first…
And we have seen Tank underestimate opponents before so it’s not out of the realm of possibility it happens again.
