lopez faded in the second half vs lomachenko till he dug down and pulled out the last round. 140lbs is his ideal weight class at the moment. he's been struggling to make 135 for over a year. he lucked out with the purse bid and is getting a worthwhile payday to stay at 135 for an easy fight.

Agreed. Its time for him to move up after he wastes the Aussie.

I wouldn't go straight for Taylor. Maybe Zepeda first.

Then Lopez v Taylor next fall/winter.

id go straight to taylor. zepeda is good and perhaps presents a good test stylistically in preparation but then it forces taylor to stick around 140 longer and maybe tempts him to just go up for crawford

Point taken. Hey, I wouldn't complain if it gets made straight away following Taylor-Ramirez.

So, I presume that because we're all looking ahead to Lopez vs Taylor, that no one is giving Ramirez a chance?

Ramirez hates Lopez, btw. Said in an interview "Fuck Teofimo" and that he has a punchable face.

So, if by chance Ramirez pulls an upset, then we're looking at a bad blood matchup with Lopez v Ramirez.

I remember Hooker hurt Ramirez to the body at one point. I think a Taylor stoppage via body shot is possible, but my official prediction is gonna be Taylor UD.

I basically see Josh's hot headed Scottish blood as Ramirez's only chance. If Josh feels he has a point to prove and makes it a tear up, he gives Ramirez his best chance. But honestly, Taylor probably even wins a tear up.

If Josh uses his full skillset, then Ramirez gets outclassed.

I didn't know where else to post this, but here's a list of fights Dame Lillard wants to see:

Would like to see Prograis in the mix. Maybe he gets the loser of Ramirez vs. Taylor. Or maybe he could fight Commey.

I'm reading Lopez will be a free agent after his next fight and may not sign with TR again. If that happens, forget the Taylor fight.

Arum is fucking his own company in his old age, and it seems that he doesn't care that he is.

TR right now has the worst reputation of any promotional entity because Arum shits on his stars.

The old bastard is extremely bitter, and senile. He needs to step down and let Todd DuBoef take the reigns as CEO.

Arum has been a figurehead for a very long time. As far as the day to day operations at TR, his name never comes up because there are a HoF and soon to be HoF guys running it. Long time boxing guys, that's why they are the best at developing talent. But they also know the value of a fight and don't pay more than it is worth. Most fighters have an inflated idea of their worth.

Arum has his agenda but he's still coherent and knows what he sees but obviously he lets these other 4 guys make decisions when it comes to matchmaking and contract negotiations

In general, the trend with boxing and promoters I hate the most is how "real fights" now seem to be reserved for main events and the only thing we seem to get on undercards is top prospects in mismatches. I get why they do it - it's an easy (and deceptive) way to build "stars" and generate interest. But as a boxing fan who cares more about seeing competitive fights my complaint should be understandable.

I don't care who Fimo's rift is with at TR, but the fact that TR can't keep its stars happy is a net negative for boxing's popularity in the US, because ESPN is by far the biggest platform the sport currently has in the US.

No one will ever watch DAZN or Triller, let's be real. If TR doesn't get its shit together, whether it's Arum or DuBoef, then they'll stop attracting talent, and eventually that means ESPN will can their asses. Or, more accurately, ESPN will get a directive from Disney to can their asses.

The sport will become more and more fragmented and niche, and once these gimmicky YouTuber novelty fights wears off, people will stop watching all together.

The brain trust at TR is obviously pretty fucking stupid, and doesn't see the long-term money making potential that Lopez brings. They should have just paid a bit extra for the rights to keep this matchup, but like I said, I don't know where the fuck their head is at anymore.

Maybe some guys at the top are thinking that even if they lose Lopez, then can perhaps invest faith in Berlanga becoming their next star.

Lopez has 2 victories worth a damn and is making crazy demands. I get it, fighters reach a certain status where they no longer need a promoter but this generation wants to skip the necessary steps of the building stage and replace it with social media activity

Yep. It's a double- edged sword when a promoter hypes a fighter. Today's "stars" are for the most part nowhere near the proven quantities they were a few decades ago.

I think Lopez's win over Masayoshi Nakatani is very underrated.

What it comes down to is if Lopez walks, then no Lopez-Taylor.

Exactly, same with Garcia (well he only has one but has the Instagram game to compensate) and Tank. Don't want to sound too pessimistic but I highly doubt we'll have the round Robin at lightweight we all wished for. Hell, in fact, I dont think we are going to get more than one or two out of those.

Josh Taylor: Terence Crawford? Of Course He's on My Radar!

"After this, it will be to move up to 147-pounds and chase a second weight world title to really cement my reign in the history books," Taylor said.

It's now looking like Crawford vs Taylor is more likely than Lopez vs Taylor.

I'm not surprised. I would expect Lopez to try to bolt from TR, but I doubt Crawford will.

It's cool though. If Taylor beats Ramirez impressively, then I'm all for Crawford-Taylor.

I'm gonna go out on a bit of a limb on this one, and change my pick to Taylor by stoppage.

I envision Josh taking Ramirez out with a left uppercut to the body.

This is the only upcoming fight we have to look forward to. Let me start sharing training camp videos and interviews of the two.

    Here's Ramirez in training camp:
