Plus Teo has talked about moving up and fighting Crawford, Brook actually went up and fought Golovkin.
I think Teo would take the Crawford fight. I believe him about that much. But it's a waste of time in the eyes of Crawford. Bud wants Canelo then retirement. There can be no mistaking what would happen IF they were to fight. If Sandor Martin and Jamain Ortiz are nailing you flush with every check right hook they throw, then what in the world do Lopez fans like Neil think is gonna happen in there with Crawford?
If Khan could survive Maidana at 140, then it's quite conceivable he handles Lopez. Teo under NOOOO circumstances hits like Danny does at 140. Danny also had to walk through Khan firepower that I don't think Teo is mentally strong enough to keep walking into. Khan's 140 resume far exceeds Teo's. Josh Taylor is really nothing special as a fighter.
Oh I don't believe for a second Teo would face Crawford. He might play a fool, but he isn't stupid enough to commit career suicide like that IMO. I think he's only mentioning Crawford because he knows Bud has bigger fish. I'm a pretty big Lopez fan myself, and I do think he's very good against southpaws. It's movement and precision which is really his Achilles heel. Guys like Loma and Taylor are some of the best southpaws around, and Teofimo managed them quite well. But yeah, Crawford absolutely poleaxes Teo.
I think there's still top fighters that are good matchups for Teo. Like Tank, because he's a midget that Teo could pretty easily counter. I'm not gonna be delusional about that one though: Tank has a level of power and explosiveness that Loma and Josh simply don't have.
I have a suspicion that Teo is a little self-conscious about his chin. He feigned throwing balls to the walls against Ortiz, but at the end of the day, Ortiz tamed him to some extent. Also, where the fuck was his jab?
Agreed. I suspect Teo would mentally fall apart if he had to soak up a lot of punishment. We'll see if Matias can show us anything.
He looked very uncomfortable for a brief period late in the fight when Lomachenko started turning it on. I also suspect he won't handle it very well against a bigger hitter.
Yeah it’s clear Teo needs guys to come to him so that he could counter them. He seems to not fight well going forward. The good news for him against Haney is that Devin won’t likely test his chin, but I think Devon’s jab, pivots/circling, and counter rights would have him frustrated all night. Same thing vs Shakur, though I’m beginning to wonder about him too now. Something is off with him. Matias would suit Teo well. Tank would too imo but Tank would never face Teo.
Feel like big fights that happen these days (few and far between) occur despite Arum, and never because.
Big or good fights? I see the consensus here among best fights anyone here ever seen are Corrales Castillo 1 and morales Barrera 1 2 best fights I seen live in the last 25 years, both top rank
Matias signed a multi fight deal with match room so we won't be seeing him vs Lopez in June or anytime soon
