I don't understand why after T1 they started turning the franchise into an action comedy. A MOTHER FUCKING Terminator is sent back in time to fucking kill you... I don't find anything funny about that....

Why else? Money. It was a financial decision most likely based on the fact that PG and PG-13 movies earn double at the box office what an R rated film will. So they stripped out all the violence and killing and made it a franchise for the whole family.

Money/greed is the reason these Terminator, Star Wars and pretty much every other movie franchise not under Marvel suck. It’s because the priority is turn a profit which means they’re gauging how to please everyone rather than focusing on making the best story.

 

That's true but deadpool was extremely profitable was it not? And isn't this upcoming terminator R rated as well? Albeit it doesn't feel R rated from the trailers.. feels like more of the goofy action comedy type with swearing sprinkled in...

Haha. Well in fairness that is a choon

 

But is it as good as this:

 

Saw it tonight and it was good. Story was top notch and made sense for the most part. It connected very well to T-2. The pacing, acting and dialogue were all very good and their was enough back story for you to care and root for all the good characters. The actors also felt like good choices for their roles unlike the last film. The action was great and hit fast and the new terminator was deadly. I actually felt scared at times for the characters because the terminator was so relentless and deadly. There is a bit of humor but it’s not a joke a minute like some Marvel films. James Cameron definitely revived the franchise and this is easily the third best film in the franchise even though that’s not saying much. One cool thing is the story isn’t what you think it is and has gone through a metamorphosis. 7.5/10

 

I have not seen it nor have any plans to do so, but I read somewhere that the tiny Mexican hoe doesn't come out credible shooting big guns even though she tries to look badass and 'fierce'.
