The reason I brought this thread back is that I spoke to a boxing person, who will remain anonymous for obvious reasons, and the convo went like this.

Me: God Oscar looked like shit last night, huh.

X: That was a fuckin fix.

Me: I ve been saying that all day, but people are just saying Oscar was shot.

X: Oscar didnt show up to fight, he showed up to lose. But Im in the business and I gotta bite my tongue haha. I just cant believe he would ruin his legacy for money but thats the kind of guy Oscar is.

I have no reason to make that up. and that confirms it for me. Everybody here knows who this person is too. I was at the Bellagio Five Diamond WPT which is a gathering of high stakes Poker players and nearly everyone in the room dismissed the fight as an obvious fix(shown live in the Fontana Lounge during the tournament).

"Boxing is getting worse than the fuckin WWF"--overheard in Bellagio Fontana Room

Lets see how quick Manny goes to GBP after his contract w Arum ends.

Oscar is a strange character. He teams up with a convicted felon and outcast in Hopkins. Barrera abrubtly leaves GBP to go with Don King. Something doesnt add up here.

    Of course you can't.

Instead stir up a conspiracy theory that has no basis in fact other than "a guy in the know told me" and other such hard evidence.

This may as well be a Peter thread.

if it was FIX...the best time for DE LA HOYA to QUIT..>QUIT..what he did was QUIT..he wasn't stopped...his corner didn't jump in...he QUIT on his stool...was after round 6 or 8 the 10-8round went Pacquiao raped him in the ass for most of the round....

If it was a FIX...the script was all fucked up....take all the punishment the most you have taken in your entire career...:dunno:

Hopkins vs. DE LA HOYA...now that was a fix fight....for the first half of the fight Hopkins was timid...staying away..moving..a few jabs..maybe a right hand..but not rushing DE LA HOYA....making DLH look good...

In a "REAL" fight...Hopkins would run over De La Hoya....with ease..and stop him after a few rounds of pounding away....

So let's take what you're saying at face value.

-If somebody knows about the fix, then they're usually smart enough to cash in on it. So there would be more than one person getting hush money.

-If someone outside of the fix starts to think it's a fix, then they can launch an investigation. Get on it.

-If someone suspects that there is a fix and they do NOTHING about it,then THEY have some serious moral issues.

-so, either your person in-the-know is guessing, or knows. Either way, call him/her on it.

-The whole "you do THIS when THAT happens" argument is an example of a generalization. TRENDS are predictable, but individual events are not. Or else there would be no point of gambling in the first place. You're placing it in an ideal Skinner behavioral utopia that doesn't exist.

-Summary: you can either get money to shut up about this, or you can get a reward for sniffing it out. MAKE MONEY MAN :hammert:

You only saw parts of 24/7. They showed Angelo Dundee but not DeNiro, Pacino, Denzel and Nicholson. They were there to help him to make it look as real as possible.

A guy i know (who i won't name) saw Kevin Spacey not even 6 hours away from Big Bear.

    You draw your own conclusions.

There are 2 reasons you would make that up:
    1. to keep trolling people like mE
    2. to defend yourself from accusations of being a retard

NO..but losing a decision...or going down from one of the 200+ power punches Pacquiao landed...

    ohh and ANOTHER THING.....

if it was a FIX...then someone forgot to tell PACQUIAO...he wanted to KILL DE LA HOYA.....i haven't seen him sooo aggressive since the Barrera/Morales days...

Pacquiao was just doing his part. Obviously not in on it. No one ever said that Manny or his team was involved. The only person who I am questioning are Oscar and Bob Arum, two previously suspected fight fixers.

So Arum and DLH got together...to fix the fight...to make Pacquiao very..very popular...so when Pac contract comes to an end..DLH CAN steal hm from ARUM?.....:notallthere::notallthere: Arum isn't stupid...

Again pure speculation. The fact remains that many people think that the fight was fixed. As to why, we can only specualte.

But the fight was fixed. Oscar took a dive. That's all I know.

the truth is you do not know shit.

unless you put the guys name on here i could say the same shit.

your boy got handled, he is old and washed up. there were no multimillion dollar last minute pacquiao bets.

why get pounded like oscar did? all those shots he took, he didnt think of just going down? why punch back at all? this is a stupid theory. did john ruiz throw the roy jones fight as well?
