maybe the most aesthetically pleasing squad to ever play... Even with the borderline useless Serginho playing as a striker (due to injuries to the several players ranked ahead of him), they still entertained royally... If they had had Careca instead of Serginho, they might very well have won the whole thing (a better keeper would have been nice as well) ... That midfield is fucking nuts ... Zico/Socrates/The Original Falcao/Cerezo augmented by Eder playing as second striker and Junior at left back... ridiculous level of creativity and beastly long-range shooting

The current Falcao was named by his father in honor of the Brazilian Falcao

Played with a football that weighed as much as a medicine ball on a cabbage patch instead of a pitch. Absolutely beautiful fitbaw indeed.

 Amazing. I think that Eder goal might slot in behind Bergkamp against The Febbes' 11 as the prettiest goal i've seen.

That was a sensational Brazil side but the boy Rossi and some typically pish Brazilian defending had as much to do with their failure in 82 than did Serginho (who was indeed fucking gash).

Serginho was a big lummox... the most un-Brazilian forward imaginable... although, to be fair, he looks like Marco Van Basten next to Fred

Chomsky has probably never watched sports but if he did, he'd really like Zico/Socrates/Falcao/Eder a whole lot

 I was there that night - if we'd won we'd have gone top of the league again with nine games left. SBR :bears:

Anyway, when I saw it live I thought it was an utter fluke. I must have rewatched it a thousand times and I'm still not convinced he meant it. If he did mean it then why the fuck did he never, ever do it again before or afterwards?

Bergkamp was a football genius. I was, and am, a huge fan. Some of his fitbaw was legitimately gorgeous. But I'm still pretty sure that turn against Nicos was a fluke.

    Ireland/Germany???

I've got a little commentary feed but I couldn't find a stream that could get past the stupid firewall at work

Unless you mean Serbia/Albania... in which case, I hope your guys win 8-0:lol:

Come on man, it was all one movement! I'd agree it was ad hoc/improvised, i dont think he thought about it or planned it, but during the split second he was doing it it was what he meant to do.

I was persuaded to come out of fitbaw retirement over the summer by a few lads who said a half-decent local side were short on numbers. These modern footballs are FUCKING RIDICULOUS. You tap them and they spin in all kinds of directions, swerving all over the shop like a bastard balloon. I've taken to just shooting on sight nowadays - the way the ball moves the 'keeper is in big trouble so long as you hit the target.

Back in the day, this beaut was considered top of the range:

Once that fucker got wet, and the patches started peeling off, heading the ball was like nutting a concrete brick with glass shards sticking out of it. Fucking fannies nowadays...

I wonder how many goals Slice's FAGGOT HERO would have scored if he was taking 75 shots at goal per game with that ball????

10 a season. Tops. No big cry baby soft cunt bullet-headered that bastard into the onion bag back in the day. Only proper forwards, like Shearer, Sir Les, Duncan Ferguson etc need apply.

somehow, 78-year old Robbie Keane failed to score during this match against the reigning World Champions... I know, I was shocked as well

Poland equalize. Still, Scotland (brought to you by IRN BRU......IRN gets you thru) dae'n no' bad. The teuchter's will be getting their hopes up for the inevitable glorious failure in the final qualifying game.
