that's Arsenal out then. They need to win 0-3 to go through. Can't see that happening against a team who doesn't concede many goals.

If this result happened away from home I'd give them a better shot. Trying to not only reverse the result but overcome three away goals is a pretty monumental task.

The meeting - for which football executives had flown in for from all around the world on first-class flights - took all of an hour. There was no proper debate by all accounts. The recommendation of a switch to November/December was presented as a done deal.

Scudamore, the representative of the richest clubs in the world, and fresh from negotiatingthe biggest TV deal in football history , is not a man used to being messed around or having his time wasted.
And now - with British football's cherished festive fixture programme in jeopardy because of Uefa's support for Fifa's idea of a World Cup Final on 23 December (which will also make it difficult for fans who attend to get home for Christmas of course), he must work out what to do.
Fifa handing out money to the big clubs for the release of players at the World Cup is all well and good. But what about the smaller clubs who do not provide many international players? What do they get in return for having their seasons fractured? For the sudden break in their cash flow?
How much less will the broadcasters pay the League, now they have to account for a two-month break in the season?
In a statement, Scudamore said he was considering what "action" to take. Litigation is a possibility. But if not, there will still be a knock-on effect for other parties caught up in this.

    Roan you fucking moron.

aye a 1-3 result for Arsenal would have been dandy, I would give them a good chance in the 2nd leg, like.

"Will it really want the FA Cup's format to be meddled with in the 2022-23 season, when the 100th anniversary of the first FA Cup Final at Wembley is due to be celebrated? The ramifications of all this reach far and wide."

I give Tyson Fury more chance of becoming a world champion than Arsenal overturning this deficit.

Fury has a very good chance of becoming a World Champ.

Arsenal have no chance here. That third goal was a killer.

It is most un Arsenal Like. They have been on a very good run.

However, true to form, maybe their exit from this years Champions League will allow them to focus on qualifying for next years Champions League.

That seems to always be the primary focus for Arsenal. Now that they can get those distracting CL fixtures out of the way they can now put their concentration on qualifying for them.

Arsenal haven't qualified for a champions league q-final since 2009-10, so true to form they look likely not to again.

I would give Arsenal odds of 4/1 to qualify for the quarter finals.

Yes, to a degree, but only after I already had a discussion with a pal that basically all Arsenal do every year is focus on qualifying for something they never win, and regard participation in the thing they are trying to qualify for as a distraction from trying to qualify for the thing that they won't participate in for fear it distracts them from qualifying for the thing.

I am writing an article in response to the BBC article the link to which I posted here.

I will then email that response to the author of the BBC article, ramming his article down his throat.

I'm really quite drunk. Finished work at three, ended up straight in the pub. Also got a key cut at timpsons - dont be fooled by the first three letters these boys are not on your side. £6 quid for a small padlock key? He started making it before he quoted me, it wasn't his first day.

Liverpool duly punished for playing for a draw and bringing basically no midfield with them to Turkey.
