Should have had a stonewall penalty, missed loads of good chances then give a goal away like that. Useless dickheads.

15 for the season now. It should really be Kane and Austin up front for England now, that's a quality strike force

It's time for Bobby to fuck off back to Wigan. This song is just for him.

I think Martinez has always been overrated (he basically got rave reviews for nearly relegating, then relegating Wigan) but until the UEFA Cup run is over it would be mad to get rid. If Everton finish 17th and win the UEFA Cup that goes down as a fucking magnificent season. It's still perfectly possible.

Everton could yet get to the Champions League, which will be renamed the Championship League before too long.

Agreed. He has a Benitez feel to him this year. Crap league. potentially major returns in Europe.

By the way you left out the FA Cup win and his push for top 4.

Martinez? They were blowing smoke up his arse just for staying up the year before he won the FA Cup. His top four push last year was with Moyes' team. A year on and they have gone massively backwards.

I don't mind Martinez, to be fair. I just think he was very overrated and it is showing now. Of course, if he wins the UEFA Cup and gets Everton into the CL, then he'll prove me suitably wrong.

To be fair to Martinez, I'll say this. If any NUFC manager won a trophy and, in the same season, got relegated, I'd happily felch the bastard in the middle on the Tyne Bridge.

He had Wigan playing good football in 2012, despite losing a lot of games, and yes he was responsible for them being in trouble in the first place but the run to keep them up was impressive

They basically hit a purple patch at the end of 11/12 when they looked doomed. The flukiness of that patch was shown clearly when they went down precisely one season later.

He would have an FA Cup title and a Europa League title from two teams that he got relegated.

I just remembered I had a dream that Moyes got hired by QPR and on the same day we also hired him back. He was managing both clubs. WTF?

I don't think it was flukey. It obviously happened at precisely the right time but over the course of the season they earned more points than the three teams who went down, nothing is flukey in a league format.

They went down the next season. In two full years they finished 4th bottom and 2nd bottom. Winning half a dozen games off the spin in the context of those two full seasons is clearly a 'purple patch'/fluke.

They finished 5th bottom, I know this because we finished 4th bottom that season

Seasons are different, you take each one on its own merit. They deserved to stay up that season, they beat good teams too, such as a Man Utd side who were going for the title.

Jesus Christ. I saw the highlights (or lowlights.) We gave up a header to a guy who is about about 4 feet 6.

Mate, I didn't say they deserved to go down. The point is that Martinez got a boat load of credit for saving them by the skin of their teeth and then relegating them.

Vincent Moses....??? Don't know if you saw the BBC commentary, but they tried to link him to Liverpool FC as he was scoring against Everton. Cheap sensationalism from the BBC.

You think I am raging Pool lunatic, but that sort of cheap, tenuous opportunism is something I hate, no matter who it is directed against.

"Victor Moses, who, ages ago, was at loan at Liverpool, and has nothing to do with them any more, has scored against Everton. Liverpool. Everton. "

    Morons. Cheap fucks.

Moses has a decent leap on him by the way, he is no midget.

I did't see the 2nd goal as my TIVO fucked up.
