Rangers better win that fucking shit league so there's a domestic Celtic match next year worth waking up at 8 AM on a fucking saturday to watch... I don't even have fucking Hearts to root against this season... I'm supposed to get pumped up for a showdown with Inverness??

Who were the most famous band from the Isle of Wight?

Hint: Two brothers were in the original line up.

Hint #2. Started out as a jazz/pop instrumental band.

Hint #3. Keyboard player sings very high(falsetto) back up vocals.

I know real jazz when I hear it. :rock1:

    (jk)

Clue #4 was going to be: Lead singer plays the slap bass.

Clue #5 was going to be: They're still around today.

That's his kid brother on guitar. Only original members are Mark King and the keyboard player.

Hilariously dated BBC Panorama investigation of Millwall thugs in 1977... Left their already poor reputation beyond repair

At 15:41, you will see the gayest alleged hooligan in history

Millwall are so unashamedly scummy

I worked with a guy who was a Millwall supporter, one of the nicest blokes you could ever meet, lovely family, beautiful daughter. Smart guy too. Then you'd ask him how his weekend went and he's be like "fuckin' got smashed by a police truncheon didn't I..." and he'd show me the bruise to prove it. Such a strange way to live.

One funny thing Millwall do, is when the opposition fans start a chant against them, they'll all just go "MEEEEEEHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH" at the top of their voices to drown them out

    :l3:

It's so demented... It's like the support just decided they'll never be any more than a mid-level championship club and they will simply revel in their infamy

Sure sign of how different things are... The supporters in this doc are obsessed with having a go at Spurs fans, seeing them as a great rival... How many times have those two clubs even been on the same pitch in the last 20 years??

Also, how about that supporter at 15:40?? If I was an away fan and that mob was running toward me, I'm going for that fellow to have a punch-up

Two recent incidents between Millwall and West Ham. 2005 & 2009. 2009 was much worse.

The of course the disgraceful behaviour of Millwall fans at Wembley for the FA Cup semifinal in 2013. I was in Liverpool for the Everton-QPR match that day. In the same week Thatcher died followed by many riots, there was some crowd trouble in a lower league match, Newcastle fans rioted and fought police after they lost to Sunderland and then Millwall fans fought themsleves at Wembley. They said the Millwall thing started when a grown man knocked over a little kid and refused to apologize and cursed out the parents.

That was so random, the Millwall chairman had absolutely no way to address the situation afterwards. How the fuck do you stop Millwall fans having rucks with other Millwall fans?!

I was reading the newspaper a couple of days after it happnened. They identified some of the people involved such as the guy who stole the police hat. They were all in their 20s. Lived in the suburbs (in Essex or Kent) and most of them lived with their parents in nice homes. I don't remember what publication it was but they seemed to go to great lengths and take joy in exposing that they:

    1) Were not even from London.
    2) Were not working class or were upper working class.
    3) Lived comfortably with mummy and daddy still.

I didn't really get that angle except to maybe embarrass them and show them as pretend hooligans.

It's certainly not the same thing as it is not organized like that. And it's not like that in England any more. You have isolated incidents. I would feel 10x safer in The Den in the visitors section than I would in Oakland Coliseum as a fan of the visiting team. Police security is much better in England and with people sitting with their own fans it is easier to control the crowd. In America, you're on your own. You sit in the wrong place for any NFL, baseball, basketball game and you can have your game ruined by opposing fans or attacked. And there are fights at EVERY SINGLE NFL game. I've seen footage of fans fighting for 10 minutes in the seats before the 83 year old lady working as an usher makes it down there to see what's happening and then finally calls security.
