Nothing against QPR - but the lassies playing last night were in blue and white and did indeed have fannies, so Ah'll gie Ye that much, Irish.

As tae achieving FA... they've been entertaining, committed and made it tae a semi final in a World Championship. Ah say this no' tae spite Ye and speak wi' sincerity as Ah've watched allae they games.

Noo, it's set up fer a scintillating England vs Germany classic. Or as the Krankies wid say: Fandabbydozy!

If that's the case than they have only equalled the 1990 side and it could be argued no' done as well fer the '90 side took it as far as pens. No'theless - a successful campaign considering better sides fell along the way.

They have manned up... it wiz a devestating blow but they've kept ticking. It's no' a reaction like the Argentinians Men's team aftae Germany beat 'em in the quarter finals o' the 2006 World Cup (they tried tae start a brawl which resulted in a German player being suspended fer the semi against Italia).

Laddie - Ye havetae explain tae me whit ootcome Ye're hoping fer ba all this mince Ye're bealling on aboot. We can then establish the boondaries and work taewards ma inevitable win, like.

    http://www.theguardian.com/football...-nothing-inferior-about-this-womens-world-cup

I’m a football convert! The 2015 women’s World Cup has achieved what nearly nine years living in England could not: an interest in “the world game”. It may be unoriginal, since millions of people around the world seem to have converted with me over the past four weeks, but what a thrill it’s been.
In the early rounds of the World Cup, the Australian columnist and professional contrarian Rita Panahi revealed she “couldn’t care less about women’s sport” because, she claimed, it was an “inferior product”.
How foolish she ought to feel today!
The semi-final between England and Japan had everything – excitement (England’s near-miss in the first minute of the match, and then three close attempts within minutes in the second half), controversy (both teams scoring from penalties that the experts quickly determined were dubious decisions), moments of joy (England successfully converted a penalty! Perhaps they can give their compatriot men some tips?) and, finally, absolute devastation (can there be any worse way to lose a game than an own goal scored in the 92nd minute?).
I have to confess: I cried when it was all over. I choked up on the penalties, I roared when England scored, I groaned when Japan did and I dropped my head into my hands at the own goal. There is a pit in my stomach that physically hurts for Laura Bassett but she became a hero of mine today and will remain one for a long time.
This World Cup has been a ratings winner around the world: 1.6 million people tuned in to watch the England v Canada quarter final, which was watched in the stadium by more than 54,000 fans. The England v Japan match report is the most popular story on our website as I write this. So why has a game that’s so enjoyable to watch gone under the radar for so long?
There is really only one reason the public doesn’t follow women’s sport in the same way they follow men’s – there is no way to follow it. Many women’s sports have little to no public profile and that was the same with women’s football until now. Where are the games? Who are the players?

1.6 million people did watch it - this is correct

54,000 fans did attend the quarter final - this is also correct

I'm assuming the stat about it being the most popular news story on the Guardian website is also true

And whilst it's not the only reason people don't watch it, it does suffer from a lack of coverage. Not that I'd want to watch it, but it is a fair point.

Again, their exploits will be a distant memory once the new season starts so I'm not sure what the beef is.

She says there is no way to watch it.

Then she says 1.6m people watched it on TV and 55,000 people attended one of the games.

Yet....there was no way to watch it.

A BBC radio DJ has sparked a bitter backlash after writing off women’s football as ‘rubbish’ and saying the best players are only Sunday league standard.
Danny Kelly told listeners that the women’s game was “naff” and described Birmingham City Ladies, who won the FA Women’s Cup in 2012, as “fairly successful”.
Kelly, speaking on his BBC West Midlands phone-in show on Friday, said: “If we’re to be honest with ourselves, women’s football is rubbish compared with men’s football.”
The Everton fan then said there would be a ‘ cricket score’ if the male Birmingham or England football teams played their female counterparts.
Kelly was hosting a phone-in about ‘Twirlgate’, where a commentator asked Canadian tennis star Eugenie Bouchard to “do a little twirl” to show off her outfit at the Australian Open.
The DJ was taken to task by a caller called Polly, who told him: “You’re not really a football fan.”
Defending the women’s game, she said: “You can’t say it’s naff, it’s really good and it’s exciting.”

Just say what you like then love.
