Am back in Leicester for yearly work trip, so fucking depressing. Saturday afternoon and hordes of families intermingled with old boozers in the local Witherspoons laden down with bags of shite from sportdirect...

Don't worry. A week from today, Roberto Martinez and the Toffemen will be there to add some class to that city.

The area around Filbert St. isn't particularly awful, some decent pubs, and its close to the railway station for a quick exit

Great win for Gateshead FC 3-1 today against Torquay, second favourites to win promotion back into the league. Get on GFC to win promotion at 10-1: you'll good get value for your bet chaps.

I made a similar point earlier..the amount of good players in World Football is shockingly low.

I think this was reflected as well with the WC and you see a historically bad Brazilian side with only one star man, Spain on incredible decline, and generally a cup filled with teams with solid but nothing special players.

Germany won the Cup simply by virtue of having the most good players when you factor in Neuer, Hummels, Muller, etc.

The EPL took titanic losses in terms of star quality it seems this season and failed to bring in anyone while all the stars went to Real and Barca.

I think this is sort of an issue in Club football where all the best players want to gang up on one team and make a joke of it. It's kind of sad really. I can't see how these players can look at themselves in the mirror and be proud of their accomplishments and their pseudo-prestige of winning 2 maybe 3 team leagues(in an exceptional year that won't last long) and ganging up on outclassed Polish and Russian teams with not even a fraction of the finances or player pool diversity in Champions League.

It's again....almost borderline pathetic the culture of European football at the current moment.

Im a bit disappointed Paul Pogba stayed at Juventus...I have no interest in the Italian league, not even a little.

The only other player I can think of that would make a dramatic impact in EPL is Ibra and he says he will never play in England. :dunno:

Aye, this tranfers market is a tricky one... Soothampton actually bought a few key players awready - the likes o' Boruc, Wanyama and noo, Forster :blackcloud:

'GOALKEEPER Fraser Forster has today completed a move to English Premier League side Southampton after a fantastic four-year spell at Celtic.'

Here's a wee snap tae bring it home:

So, Forster, Wanyama, Hooper, Sammy the Greek, Wilson and Ledley. Matthews could be o' tae Swansea, Commons tae West Brom and Ambrose tae Burnley.

Man Citeh-Arsenal later. I hope Sanchez starts. He's an unbelievable player. He should have an amazing season. Want to see how Ramsey fairs too. Could be an even bigger season for the Welshman.

Is that a mata o' fact?

Hearts one nil up at the Ibrox! Shite - time fer a sending off.

Here's some words on the Scottish Championship from old rusty knickers... Following relegation for Edinburgh's senior clubs last season and a second successive promotion for Ally McCoist's Rangers, Lennon expects Scotland's second tier to be "fascinating".
"It's going to be a strange season with Hibs, Hearts and Rangers in the Championship," he explained.

Some breaking news from the Beeb:

'Legia Warsaw have issued an open letter to Celtic asking for a one-off play-off match to decide which side should progress to the Champions League play-off round.'

    Whit a game...

Kenny Miller heads the ball into the path of Nicky Law, who fires home on the run to level the match 1 - 1

Almost immediately, Hearts go back ahead as Osman Sow races on to Sam Nicholson's pass and arrows a low shot past Cammy Bell 1 - 2

Incredible end to the match at Ibrox as Lee Wallace's low cross ricochets off a couple of players and eventually off Kenny Miller to go just over the Hearts crossbar. Rangers 1-2 Hearts

Looks like Arsenal collecting first piece of er..silverware...sanchez looks great, if they could pick up a good defensive midfielder and a Klose type poacher, arsenal could mount a challenge this year

Aha! Couldnae resist the lure o' the Six Nations, eh? (just kilting)

Ah am pure Scoattish and wid win any 'Scotch off' on this forum - Ah've pure Irn Bru running through ma veins.

Those Poles are calling Sellik oot...

'Legia chief Dariusz Mioduski accused the Hoops hierarchy of “hiding” from them after UEFA booted his club out of the Champions League for fielding an ineligible player in their 6-1 aggregate win.
Mioduski then went one step further with an open letter which made claims about Celtic ruining 126 years of heritage if they don’t hand back their place in Europe’s premier competition and even dragged club legends Willie Maley, Jock Stein and Billy McNeill into the argument.
The Pole also called on Hoops chiefs to meet him like men and settle their dispute with honour.'

Nice win for the Gunners. All of the signings have been fantastic. Sanchez is like Luis Suarez without the biting. What a work rate. Calum Chambers and Debuchy have fit in wonderfully.

    Giroud's goal. Woof.
