Anyway, IMO, give Khan til next summer, then put him in with Campbell/Diaz/Katsidis - he'll still get smashed, but you know, we won't ever see it cos Scum-Warren will protect him even more now.

Gomez fought better than he has in years.

The stoppage was pathetically early.

ITV continue to be hilariously, HILARIOUSLY bad. They really have to stop that shit, because it's an embarrassment.

It was a good win in the end, probably Khan's best win to date. He's as chinny as they come, but you have to give him credit for getting off his ass to stop his man. As I said before, Khan is a lot tougher than people want to give him credit for. He showed a lot of HEART to get back at Gomez after being hurt and hurt quite badly.

Khan will never, EVER get anywhere near a boxing ring with Michael Katsidis in it. EVER. That would be licensed murder. The single fighter I'd pick to expose Khan's chin and see him stretchered out of the ring and into an ambulance would be Katsidis.

I know it's almost impossible nowdays to hear anyone on a boxing board give Amir any credit, because the hoopla surrounding him is fucking horrible. It's extremely easy to want to see him battered simply to see the look on Jim bastard Rosenthal's face.

Obviously Khan is chinny. Very chinny. But that doesn't mean that he doesn't have heart. You don't get back up off the seat of your pants to stop people if you are some gutless, flashy nobody. Having no chin doesn't mean that you can't have heart...

Interesting. I disagree, although at this stage i'd pick Katsidis to beat Khan, i would at least give Amir a chance....Katsidis can be hurt, and his defence is only margainly better than Michael Gomez's.

khan, offensively, is superb. i dont know any other prospects or contenders who can lace combinations like he can.

aside from the knockdown (where khan appeared to be hurt), he beat the living crap out of that punching bag.

i'd give him a decent shot at beating campbell if they fight later this year.

I don't buy into the 'hype machine' either- it's detestable, really, and completely sours most genuine boxing enthusiasts into hating the kid.

Perhaps moving from ITV might help- I believe that was his last contracted fight with those c*nts and whilst Setanta are hardly brilliant, they are considerably better than Rosenthal and his motley crew of sycophants.

However, once you strip away the hype, you have to consider the evidence in front of you and the truth is that, as I recently said elsewhere, Khan is a curates egg of a fighter. Half of him, his offense, is world class. He has tremendous hand-speed and his power is increasing as he develops physically. He throws a true variety of punches and puts hurtful combinations together with real effectiveness.

His defense, however, is very sloppy- what with that low left hand and his vulnerable chin, he is going to get stopped if he doesn't learn to protect his whiskers better.

Khan v Romanov, at this stage, would be a pick 'em for me, though if I had to wager on it, I'd probably back Romanov. Until Amir learns to keep his left hand up, he can't realistically consider stepping up in class, and there is no way Werren will allow it, either.

He's still only a bairn, remember. He isn't world class now, not by a long shot, but he will be IMHO.
