Maybe, I wasn't familiar with him. He's not a name at all though and you'd have to take guys like brook and Thurman to bash him up. Spence needs a proper showcase and breakthrough performance and it's not realistic to expect established guys to give him a shot to do it when he's still a nobody.

Yeah, I think way tougher than Vargas.

Spence would stop Vargas within 6.

Spence whips in the body shots with venom but he seems a bit stiff, yet.

Spence stiff? I don't see it. He's a very fluid, well coordinated, accurate counterpuncher.

The guys on Spike comparing him to Floyd and Leonard all night were going overboard though.

Spence lacks the superhuman quickness and athleticism that young Leonard and young Floyd had. That's what I see as his main weakness. Good handspeed, but not blazing handspeed. His excellent timing and accuracy can compensate for that though.

I mean, Gary Russell has the fastear hands I the sport, yet he's nowhere near as good a technician as Spence.

Maybe that's what I am seeing. He seems to hesitate for just a split-split second more when whipping in the shots. Maybe he is loading up.

Remember how Norris used to throw shots when he was young, that's what I call fluid.

Well Norris was an exceptional talent, save for his pitiful chin and hot temper.

Offensively, Nortis one of the most fluid combination punchers of all time.

Spence's Athleticism Doesn't Jump Out @ You, but he's Not Devoid of it Either...He's NOT Floyd or Ray Leonard or Zab or Sugar Shane or Roy...But he's Not Vernon Forrest or Terrance Crawford or Tim Bradley Either...

    He's in that Middle Area...

Handspeed only matters but so much unless it's backed up by ability. Russell Jr and Khan have the two fastest hands in the sport, yet they're limited fighters. Spence is a better technician than both, by a mile.

He'll be fine because there's nobody at 147-154 with super quickness now that Floyd is gone. Lara is the quickest, most athletic guy within 147-154, but is a mental midget. Spence doesn't seem like a mental midget.

Of all attributes, handspeed counts for the least when the others are lacking.

Fast hands are worthless without a chin, but a chin will suffice if the hands are slow.

Fast feet will complement a shitty chin better than fast-hands will.
