You're right , they don't and it's a travesty the way the media has avoided him.

Word has it he took second in LA and possibly the most delegates ... but what do we get in the media ... try to find a story on it.

McCain wins Louisiana caucus: preliminary results

<!-- BEGIN STORY BODY --> Wed Jan 23, 7:53 PM ET

<!-- end storyhdr --> WASHINGTON (AFP) - Senator John McCain has won the Republican party's caucuses in Louisiana while longshot candidate Ron Paul took second place, the state party said Wednesday, citing preliminary results.

Former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney, a leading candidate for the Republican nomination, came in third, Louisiana Republican party Chairman Roger Villere said in a statement.

"I offer my congratulations Senator John McCain on his success in the Louisiana caucuses," Villere said in a statement.

"Senator McCain is an American hero and this is further evidence that he enjoys strong support in Louisiana and throughout the South," he said.
Villere did not release any figures from the caucuses held Tuesday evening, stressing that that the results were preliminary.

The Louisiana contest, however, is not a battleground state in the race for the Republican nomination as candidates have focused on bigger prizes in South Carolina and Florida.

McCain, who won the New Hampshire primary earlier this month, took first place in the South Carolina contest on January 19.

Romney has captured Wyoming, Michigan and Nevada, while former Arkansas governor Mike Huckabee won the Iowa caucus on January 3.

Republicans are now campaigning hard in Florida, which holds a crucial primary Tuesday that has become a do-or-die contest for former New York mayor Rudolph Giuliani, who has focused his campaing in the large southern state.

A new Florida poll by the St. Petersburg Times on Wednesday showed McCain leading the state with 25 percent, followed by Romney with 23 percent. Giuliani trailed at 15 percent.

GOP Joins Forces In Lousiana To Derail Paul
01-23-2008
Nolan Chart

As reported in Ballot Access News, "It appears that Ron Paul supporters outnumbered the supporters of any of his opponents. But since this was predicted, the supporters of Rudy Giuliani, Mike Huckabee, John McCain, and Mitt Romney, cooperated to set up a "fusion" slate of unpledged candidates for Delegate. The "fusion" slate, labeled the "Pro-Life/Pro-Family" slate, beat the Ron Paul slate in each of the 7 U.S. House districts. Formally, the "fusion" slate billed itself as an "uncommitted" slate, and no one really knows how many supporters of each presidential candidate are on the fusion slate, except the campaigns themselves."

According to the Louisiana GOP, preliminary results indicate that an "uncommitted 'Pro-Life/Pro-Family' slate appears to have won a majority of delegates in all seven congressional districts."

This unprecedented uniting of GOP candidates to stop Ron Paul clearly shows that the GOP agenda is apparently to stop Ron Paul at all costs.

Provisional ballots remain to be verified.

A sound economic relief plan ...

That doesn't require increased taxes to implement....

:bears:
----------
Comprehensive Economic Revitalization Plan

Introduction
America became the greatest, most prosperous nation in human history through low taxes, limited government, personal freedom and a belief in sound money. We need to return to these principles so our economy can thrive again. When enacted, my plan will provide both short-term stimulus and lay the groundwork for long-term prosperity.
Other candidates talk a lot about stimulus packages, but my record stands alone. I have fought for these measures for years as a member of Congress and will make them a top priority as president.
Ron Paul, a 10-term Republican congressman from Texas's 14th District, is currently the ranking member of the House Financial Services Committee's Subcommittee on Domestic and International Monetary Policy, Trade, and Technology. He has been named "Taxpayers' Best Friend" for 10 consecutive years by the National Taxpayers' Union. Ron Paul is also the author of several books on monetary policy and economics.
The Four-Point Plan

1. [*]Tax Reform: Reduce the tax burden and eliminate taxes that punish investment and savings, including job-killing corporate taxes.
[*]Spending Reform: Eliminate wasteful spending. Reduce overseas commitments. Freeze all non-defense, non-entitlement spending at current levels.
[*]Monetary Policy Reform: Expand openness with the Federal Reserve and require the Fed to televise its meetings. Return value to our money.
[*]Regulatory Reform: Repeal Sarbanes/Oxley regulations that push companies to seek capital outside of US markets. Stop restricting community banks from fostering local economic growth.
1. Tax Reform
• Eliminate Taxes on Dividends and Savings. The basis of capitalism is savings, and Americans who do so should be rewarded.
• Pass HJ Res. 23 to encourage savings over consumption.
• Repeal the Death Tax. Attacking small businesses and breaking up family farms smothers growth and kills jobs.
• Pass H.R. 2734 to make the Bush tax cuts permanent.
• Cut Taxes for Working Seniors. Grandmothers and grandfathers working to make ends meet should keep all the fruits of their labor.
• Pass H.R. 191 to amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to repeal the inclusion in gross income of Social Security benefits.
• Eliminate Taxes on Social Security Benefits. That money belongs to seniors, not the government. They paid into the system for a lifetime, and they should be free to spend every penny as they see fit.
• Pass H.R. 192 to amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to repeal the 1993 increase in taxes on Social Security benefits.
• Accelerate Depreciation on Investment. We need to help companies grow and create jobs.
• Pass H.R. 4995 and amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to reduce corporate marginal income tax rates.

[*]Eliminate Taxes on Capital Gains. Investment should be embraced and rewarded.
• Pass H.J. Res 23 (The “Liberty Amendmentâ€￾), proposing an amendment to the Constitution of the United States relative to abolishing personal income, estate, and gift taxes and prohibiting the United States Government from engaging in business in competition with its citizens.
[*]Eliminate Taxes on Tips. The single parents and working students who earn their income chiefly through tips deserve to keep all of their money. This tax on "estimated income" is unfair and should be ended.
• Pass H.R. 3664 to amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to provide that tips shall not be subject to income or employment taxes.
[*]Support Mortgage Cancelation Relief Act. Working families who lost their homes should not be punished a second time with a big IRS bill.
• Pass H.R. 1876 to amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to exclude from gross income of individual taxpayers discharges of indebtedness attributable to certain forgiven residential mortgage obligations.
2. Spending Reform
• Reduce Overseas Military Commitments. Our bases and troops should be on our soil, bolstering our economy.
• It's time to stop subsidizing our business competitors in Europe, Japan and South Korea.
• Freeze Non-Defense, Non-Entitlement Spending at Current Levels
• I vote against all bloated, pork laden spending bills and will veto them as president.
3. Monetary Policy Reform
• Televise Federal Open Market Committee Meetings. An institution as powerful as the Federal Reserve deserves full public scrutiny.
• Expand Transparency and Accountability at the Federal Reserve
• Pass H.R. 2754 to require the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System to continue to make available to the public on a weekly basis information on the measure of the M3 monetary aggregate and its components.
• Return Value to Our Money. Legalize gold and silver as a competing currency.
• Level the long-term boom and bust business cycle by passing H.R. 4683, which would repeal provisions of the federal criminal code relating to issuance coins of gold, silver, or other metal for use as current money and making or possessing likenesses of such coins.
4. Regulatory Reform
• Repeal Sarbanes/Oxley. It has seriously wounded our capital markets and helped make the UK the financial center at our expense.
• Ending these misguided regulations would bring jobs flooding back to the United States
• Pass H.R. 1049 to reform Sarbanes-Oxley and reduce the burden it places on small businesses.
• Repeal or Remove Costly and Unnecessary Federal Regulations. Neighbors know best how to help their neighbors.
• We need to make it easier for community banks, credit unions, and other financial institutions to better serve their communities and to help people in these communities get access to credit and capital.
• Pass H.R. 1869 to enhance the ability of community banks to foster economic growth and serve their communities, boost small businesses, increase individual savings, and for other purposes.

Trust me when I say .... there's only ONE Republican candidate that can so polarize the country and at the same time attract bipartisan voters , to beat the nightmare that will be Hillary as President ....

VOTE RON PAUL

Ron Paul on center stage would be an education for the people and I believe the people would wake up to it and the media would no longer be able to prevent it.

Well, you and I agree about this. When it comes to news coverage I have no issue with the most popular candidate (polls, primaries) getting the bulk of the coverage. But in a televised debate, each candidate should have equal time to get and respond to questions.

However, I think Paul's message is too revolutionary and scary for the fat, spoon-fed American public to embrace. I have talked to too many people that have no real idea about any of the candidate except for the sweethearts (Obama & Hilary). To me, that is a crime.

Petre, does Paul have any 'disciples' among younger politicians who can take what he's done and carry it even further in future elections? We all know Paul isn't gonna win, and at his age, a run in 2012 or 2016 is highly unlikely. Is there anyone out there that can run in those elections with a platform of Paul's ideas?

It's clear, in spite of his not being able to win, he is making some noise and influencing a lot of people. It would be a shame if there was nobody around to fight his fight when he's gone.

Honestly I have no idea ... I'm sure there's someone that will want to pick up the torch and try to emulate him ... unfortunately I think Ron Paul is a very unique individual with very uncommon moral fortitude and the people are going to let this great man pass buy.

Ron Paul II

<small>January 21st, 2008 <!-- by Administrator --></small> In my December 12, 2007 article Only Ron Paul, I asserted that of the presidential candidates only Ron Paul had the economic understanding to deal with the subprime mess. Now, I present more evidence that Ron Paul is the man to deal with the impending recession. The medicine, however, would be bitter, but the results would be long-lasting. Ron Paul would call for a return to the gold standard.

In 1985, Ron Paul presented a paper to the Mises’ Institute conference on the gold standard: The Political and Economic Agenda for a Real Gold Standard. Nearly 23 years ago, Ron Paul exhibited his grasp of the Austrian Theory of Money and the need for a return to the gold standard. Since 1985, we have seen the devastating results of not being on the gold standard: inflation and the destruction of the dollar as the world’s sole reserve currency.

Because returning to the gold standard seems anachronistic to most Americans (because they do not understand the gold standard and the concept of money), implementing the ideas of Ludwig von Mises, which Paul discusses in his 1985 paper, would be next to impossible. However, Ron Paul discusses another tactic to return to the gold standard, a tactic which should be of interest to gold and silver investors.

Paul asserts that the popularity of gold coins “have shown us that it is possible to adopt another tactic, that of getting gold coins into circulation prior to setting a new par value for the dollar.†(Par value for the dollar meaning the dollar’s conversion rate into gold [and maybe silver.])

In other words, the people would lead the “leaders†in returning to the gold standard. As more and more people turn to gold as protection against inflation and its inevitable result, a declining dollar, they adopt gold as their standard investment. Eventually, our “leaders†will see the handwriting on the wall and return to gold. Returning to the gold standard would be much less painful for the nation if Ron Paul were president. The other candidates, steeped in statist economic theories, would fight returning to the gold standard.

Paul’s piece is an educating read. If you do not grasp all of it, don’t worry. Just by reading Paul’s paper you will inherently know that now is the time to invest in gold and silver.

Ron Paul Racing Lands a Car!
After exciting conversation’s with Doug Yates Racing, we have secured permission to announce our sponsor intentions. Not just any car but the legendary #28 making its historic return to the track since it was retired shortly after the passing of NASCAR great Davey Allison in 1993. Imagine the coverage this team is going to get for Ron Paul.

Doug Yates Racing, with 48 poles, 57 wins including two Daytona 500s and a Championship, is no stranger to winning. The #28 car also posted the 4th fastest time in Daytona’s preseason test earlier this month. Imagine the coverage this car will get for its history alone. Now imagine it covered with Ron Paul. This would be the first time a NASCAR racecar was sponsored by "We the People", the fans, the Ron Paul Revolution.

However, depending on our commitment we will need to collect $50K to 400k in the next 2 weeks. Considering we (the grassroots supporters) have collected 6.5 million in 24 hours, WE CAN DO THIS! But we need everyone’s help. Please copy this hyperlink-logo and post it everywhere. Add www.ronpaulracing.com to your email signature and most of all donate today.
Over the next few days we will be updating the site with various Ron Paul endorsements throughout the racing community as well as Ron Paul Racing fan gear and details about how you can be there with us in person for the dropping of the green flag. But only if we meet our goal. The plans have been set; the ball is rolling; now it’s up to us all to make this happen.

Thank you,
Scanner Scott

GO RON PAUL!!!

Big Daddy Don Garlits on our project

Sounds like a very good idea, its up to the racing fans, will they contribute and make it happen? I don’t know, but they should. Ron Paul is the only candidate that has the best interest of American and our way of life at heart, all the rest are just “politiciansâ€￾ looking for power.
