Ali would be a nightmare for Louis. Louis would be at least a step behind Ali for most of the fight, and Ali had the chin. toughness and heart to ride out the storm if Louis did manage to get him in some trouble. I would take Ali by a fairly wide decision.
CLAY/ALI WAS KNOCKED OUT BY A CRUISERWEIGHT FROM ENGLAND NAMED HENRY COOPER!!!!! ANGIE SAVED THAT FIGHT FOR HIM AS HE SHOULD HAVE BEEN DECLARED A TKO LOSER! AND YOU THINK HE COULD TAKE LOUIS' HOOK??? ::::::::
Yes, because that one fight tells the story of Ali's entire career. Louis was trounced by a German named Max Schmeling. And you think he could beat Muhammad Ali??? ::::::::
Max in that fight would have had a good shot at Ali. Amateurs like yourself think Clay/Ali was invincible. He was anything but that. Fans like yourself were misinformed for many years by a man named Howie Cosell who knew nothing, and I mean nothing about boxing,
Cosell? :: Maybe he's influenced some people's opinion's on Ali but certainly not me and i seriously doubt anybody else here. This a a boxing forum. People here don't ask who would win between Oscar De La Hoya and Mike Tyson. Quit talking down to people like they are some guy in the street who's only knowledge of boxing is what they see on Sports centre.
Based upon that logic Ali-Liston should have been Liston KO 1. Of course lots of people at the time predicted exactly that and if you made a prediction at the time you would have said the same...based upon this. Didn't quite turn out that way now did it. Ali was clowning against Cooper and trying to fulfil his prediction (5th round). He was clumbsy and got caught. Also had they never fought...people would have said shit like "Liston's long reach and excellent jab would have offset Ali's speed". Y'all know this is true.
Hi best win was against Liston in the first fight..if you consider how good he looked PLUS his competition.
It's easy to bring up a point when you nit-pick. That same Ali took Frazier's best lefts, Ernie Shavers' best shots and Foreman, but you bring up Henry Cooper to make your point? Louis was dogged by a light heavy in Ezzard Charles. Let's not forget the other light heavy who knocked him out for good, Rocky Marciano (maybe Louis could have used Angie in his corner that night). How 'bout, the lighter than light heavy, Billy Conn? 174 lbs? Maybe lighter before eating. By the way, let's go by what's on record, not what our vitriol wishes; Ali won via TKO 5, Henry Cooper. Bowe beat Holyfield 3 times (Fan-man played the role of Angie, so the win is the result I want!):shit:
