    The Hell it is!

    The Departed isn't better in anyway.

    It's sad that Marky Mark actually gave the best performance in The Departed.

    Jack was a shell of his prime self, nothing more than a caricature. Neither Leo nor Matt Damon gave a performance for the ages. They were both mehh.

    The Irishman was far better made and better acted.

    To be honest, The Departed isnt THAT much better than Gangs of NY. At least in Gangs of NY, you have DDL giving a stand-out performance- theres nothing stand-out in The Departed.

    Agreed about the Departed. Both overrated and disappointing at the same time. I do find the last 15- 20 minutes of the film extremely rewatchable though.

    I think State of Grace is better than The Departed.

    The departed has ruined it for you, but check it out. And it's a trilogy. So the first movie is basically the departed. but then in part 2 its them when they were younger just starting out in the gang and police force. And the third part is the conclusion and the after math of what happened in part 1.

    I didn't knew there was a trilogy. "Infernal Affairs" is a great film with solid acting, cinematography, music, action scenes and editing. The Departed is a lame remake. I had to rewatch IA again after watching The Departed just to erase the bad memories of Scorcese's dud.

    No objective, knowledgeable person who knows anything about movies could claim that The Departed is better.

    The Departed was one big ass mess, and such a mess than even though Jack Nicholson was a caricature shell of his prime self, he still carried the movie over Damon, and Dicaprio, both of whom gave underwhelming performances.
