yep. backing Miranda up was the key to the whole thing. As pavlik said, Miranda is a bullly, which means he can't fight for shit going backwards. and we saw that.

...and I thought Germans have to be impressed with Pavlik, since he built a 30-0 record, fighting mediocre opposition in the light-middleweight as a 6´2 middleweight.

Anyway it´s just your selective reading, you can be impressed with a single performance by an untested fighter without declaring him the new and real heir to Bernard Hopkins, the uncrowned champion and the undisputed No.1 challenger. You can remember that he got put on his a** by Zuniga and was hurt by Zertuche. Thank You.

Sure thing El, but none of that changes the fact that Pavlik would smash your little smurf's lights out :tease:

I don't think there's any way Abraham makes it into the mix. He's not going to leave Europe, and the last thing a guy like Pavlik is going to do is go over-seas, especially given the controversy surrounding the Abraham/Miranda fight.

My guess is Abraham becomes the next Ottke (at best), fighting B opponents in Europe for the next 10 years.

Abraham has fought and beaten much better fighters than Pavlik has.

Where but Europe should Ottke have fought? All the good fighters in the SMW are Europeans. Should he go to America to fight Antwun Echols in front of 50 people, when he can pack an 8000 seat arena here.

Eastman? You must be confusing me with Frank, I don't give a damn about Eastman.

I am simply saying that Pavlik would smash the shit out of Abe.

It's true that sometimes boxing is an unpredictable sport, and "anything can happen" - and this is the reason why I am not a regular better.

I only bet on fights like Barrera - Hamed where it's obvious who is going to get their face smashed in. I still can't believe hamed was a 3-1 favourite in that fight.

This would be one of those matchups, there is pretty much no doubt, barring some kind of fan man style interference or worse, german nazi dust in the eyes etc, that pavlik would smash abe's face in.

Sven Ottke makes me sick, there were over half a dozen reported fights that should've gone the other way, he was a straight up fraud, I'd loved to have seen him get sent to his grave in Denmark or in Wales, I remember when he was losing via virtual shutout to a 10 - 0 Mundine (who didn't even have an amatuer career  ) before he managed to land that ever so fortunate pat to the temple. The fact that Sven remained 'undefeated' just goes to show what Wilfried Sauerland can do, and serves as a CRITICAL warning to any foreign contender who's aiming for a shot against a Sauerland events house-champion, especially if he's an ethnic German.

:nono: You'll see, You'll see,.. Pavlik will be just like Sergei Liakhovich, we 'think' he's impressive, we 'think' he's durable, then in his next fight he gets smashed out of the ring, by someone underrated with more experience (Shannon Briggs / Jermaine Taylor).

I don't care if LP kayos Brown in the next round. That guy hits less hard than Spadafora or Sven Ottke. He just unloaded 15 flush shots and Brown was fine.

    He just CAN'T Punch...

a COUPLE YEARS Ago,Lamont Compared HIMSELF to Winky Wright,so @ Least he's AWARE of WHO he is,as a Fighter...

& Like alot of Winky Fights, this Probably WILL Go the Distance, yet Lamont is Throwing ALOT of Punches & Being the Aggressor, all the While...

They both hurt him and never landed 10 of 15 in 4 seconds. Last time I saw Brown in Anaheim, he got stopped in one, it was a little premature. He was hurt though wobbling.

He'd best be careful what he wishes for, although I appreciate him for fighting the way your supposed to, he'd best realise what he's up against, anyone in the possession of having Winky, Ouma and a siamese mutant of Bernard Hopkins all moaning in crucifixtion on his fistic skewer, should spell doom for this brash young gnoop, really, he'll wish he was a ghost when Jermaine starts pumping that piston into his bulb, Kelly's gates are always open, Taylor just hasta sock that sandwich in. :crafty:

Lamont can't punch...and he has the wrong style for a guy that can't punch....GOD DAMN...LEFT/RIGHT to the body, LEFT/RIGHT UPPERCUT..repeat to the body....

Lamont in the future should stay outside and box more, Brown can't hurt him so he can be aggresive here, but he needs to stay outside like he use to in the future..

He is a real athletic guy though. He has good handspeed and is flashy. If his chin is good, he could do somethings with his skill set. He has no power though. So much for the myth speed equals power.

He could still be in some good fights. He's clearly good enough to make some noise in the next few years.
