The Legend of Tarzan I have mixed feelings watching this film. It isn't a terrible film, but neither is that good either. I liked it though. What is good about it: the actors deliver good performances (disappointed a little bit by how underused was Margot Robbie's Jane how basically plays damsel in distress for 90% of the movie), Alexander Skarsgard IS Tarzan, Samuel L. Jackson was good as the sometimes comical George Washington Williams and Christoph Waltz was cartoon evil with his deadly rosary. Djimon Hounsou had very little to do except snarling and a brief fight with Tarzan. The action scenes are over-the-top, but nonetheless entertaining, beautiful cinematography and nice turn of the century costumes, sets, etc. What is not so good about it: the film moves at snail pace, at times it drags way to long on dialogues that weren't so relevant. This one feels like a 3 hour movie when it fact it has a running time of 1:49 hour. Director David Yates needed to edit this film SHORTER, cut much of the dialogue scenes and leave the action scenes. An edited version of 1 hour 30 minutes would have been much better. Also the overuse of CGI was a big distraction and sometimes looked laughably fake. I still liked the film and wish it can make money to grant a lower budget sequel with these same actors. 6.8/10

Did you ever see this Greystoke film Ant? I'm wondering what you think because I loved it back in the day. I still remember going to see it at the movies twice.

I'm going to see this Tarzan film but only because I'm in that 10% DM mentioned.

Exactly. I used to could tell from trailers if I liked a film or not. Now? they can fool you all the time and there is just no way to tell what's going to be good from a trailer. Best bet is, if it's CGI heavy, odds are it's shit.
