it took in 54. That is a 5 million difference. Not really a smashing.

Yeah, I'd blame any plot holes more on the editing process then the writing process. Lindeloff has proven himself one of the best at tying sometimes ridiculously complicated and/or ambiguous story lines together and having them somehow make sense.

Unfortunately with movies, there are imposed time constraints that makes his style of writing more conducive to TV sometimes.

And in an interview he gave, he is apparently very one track minded so he cant do more than one project at a time. It was only recently that scott announced a sequel. Lindeloff cant just wait around.

  4. Yeah. He was 'busy'. Yeah.
Like George Lucas was too 'busy' to be involved with Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

Plot-Holes, Nonsensical shit, utter stupidity - you missed all that yeah?

I watched it. Entertaining flick with a science-motivated plot. It's a feel good movie but nothing worth an Oscar or anything. Damon's role would've been perfect for a young Tom Hanks.

They come from Box Office mojo THE site for box office numbers. Nice try tho

  11. Back to thread - this movie already took US$54 million at weekend.

    That convincingly beats P4P#1 Director Christopher Nolan's all-star cast, big-budget Interstellar's opening by a hefty US$6.5 mill.

It's actually beats it by 4.6 million. And Nolan isnt P4P#1 the best director. Scott is higher up on the director Ladder IMO. But Nolan could pass him when it's all set and done.

  13. All is SAID and done.

    Carry on....

  14. I think your sense-of-humour took a detour...

I have very little interest in this film as is just a new retale of "Robinson Crusoe in Mars" which wasn't even a classic by any stretch of the imagination.

  18. Shit logic not to give a movie a try. (and Robinson Crusoe On Mars is an underrated near-classic)

Went to see it today - great movie.
Just shows what happens when Ridley Scott actually clicks with a good sceenplay and he's into the visuals like no other director.
If you like Silent Running / Apollo 13 / Gravity / Moon / InterStellar - you'll love this.

    8/10

  20. Well remembered! I think I only saw this when I was young...like 10, lol...and it was too slow for me.
Probably need to check it out again.

Same with Silent Running a few years later.

The only good sci fi movies are the avant-garde ones like 2001 or the ridiculous ones like Logan's Run/Total Recall, these blockbuster ones starring Tom Cruise or Matt Damon are boring.

Yeah, and Blade Runner was good too.
