One of the best Hong Kong gangster movies in recent years, it's just a matter of time before some Hollywood studios will buy the rights to do a remake, much like The Departed from Infernal Affairs.

Halloween: 7/10, first 50 minutes or so of the movie were good, very good. Showing how/why Michael became what he became..but then after that it was just a remake of the original...above average remake, the whole movie is about how evil..dark..Michael Myers is then he shows some compasion at the end? :dunno:[IMG]

Today the Exorcist is very tame to me...but back in the day, when I saw it as a youngster, that shit was the scariest shit I've ever since, after the first viewing, I couldn't friggin' sleep in peace for days.

The movie that still gives me chills to this day is a television movie, yes, a television movie, it's 'Trilogy of Terror' starrring Karen Black. It's a movie that comes in three parts, the last installment stars Karen Black...it features this demonic wooden Indian doll. That motherfucker is relentless and scary ass motherfucker...he slices the shit outta Karen Black, and after many agonizing bloody minutes, she finally throws it into the oven, she turns up the temperature, and fries the little sucker. After a few tense moments, she opens the oven lid, and this intense demonic smokes comes out and engulfes Karen Black.

The final scene you have Karen Black squatting between the apartment corridors, her unsuspecting boyfriend is coming, then she stands up, and then you see her in close-up. The final scene, she grins, and she has the exact same demonic grin of the Indian wooden doll...sharp teeth and all.

To this day, I get shivers down my spine everytime I see that scene...that's some scary ass shit, lol.

The Condenmed: 4/10 Ten prisoners from around the world facing the death penalty are choosen to participate on a real life "survivor". They most fight till the death with the sole survivor being granted FREEDOM and alot of MONEY...Stone Cold had a few funny parts..but the movie just wasn't that good...

no, and as it turns out not for anything at all. I thought she was Oscar-nominated for The Last King of Scotland, but it was for another award show.

BRIDGE TO TARBIRITHIA - 7.5/10 - This was a Disney movie though not a cartoon and was as close to a drama as you would normally think. I had to use my secret weapon to keep from crying.
    ADVICE -
    Keep the tissue near.
    Rewatchability - 3/5.

THE ASTRONAUT FARMER - 5/10 - Billy Bob Thornton builds a rocket ship on his farm and wants to go into space but has to fight against the government, and financial debt. The movie felt incomplete, then he's in court explaining why he should be allowed to fly in space and you're expecting one of those scenes where he says something really smart or cool, and he comes up with "just because".
ADVICE - Don't waste your time with this, even if you're a hardcore scifi fan.
    Rewatchability - 1/5.

    DREAMGIRLS - 6.5/10 -
This could have easily gotten a higher score except for 1 thing...It was a musical and I hate musicals even though the songs were more R&B than sing songy. Even then, when I wanted to cut it off the plot kept me too intriguied to the point where I just had to finish it.
ADVICE - If you're like me, keep the FFW button handy.
    Rewatchability - 2/5.

    HOT FUZZ - 4.5/10 -
From the guys who did and stared in Shaun of the Dead. This one started out okay but it just seemed to drag on too much and the plot became redundant. The jokes were mediocre at best and it was too far fetched.
ADVICE - Even if your a big fan of Shaun you should probably stay clear of this one.
    Rewatchability - 1/5.

Kerry Washington was so goddamn sexy in this movie, that her bad acting can be overlooked.

I start saying it's just a movie to myself and imagining the actors rehearsing etc, etc.

The People vs. Larry Flynt: 8.5/10 Great movie..great performance by everyone in it..even Courtney Love did okay in it. The life story of the man that gave us Hustler...Larry Flynt..should be national hero... (I need to read up on Larry Flynt was everything in the movie true..or did they made up a bunch of stuff???)

ZODIAC - 7/10 - Not a bad drama. It kept you guessing and waiting to find out who the killer was throughout the whole movie which was a bit long for my tastes. There were even a few scenes that had you scared and worried for the star. Also a great performance by Robert Downey Jr who plays a coked up alcoholic newswriter.
Advice - Make sure you're not tired and have the time to sit through this one.
Rewatchability - 2.5/5 - It'd take a lot to want to sit through this one again, mainly because it's so long but also knowing the outcome spoils one of the major factors that draws you in and keeps your interest.

Hot Fuzz-6/10-Don't even think this movie compares to "Shaun Of The Dead"!! It falls flat on that it has a hard time deciding what type of movie it wants to be!! It doesn't know if it wants to be a comedy or an action flick. Most likely it was meant to be a comedy, but really falls flat!! I laughed maybe 4 times during the entire movie.

Good break down. I agree that might have been the movies problem is they didn't seem to know if they wanted it to be a comedy, drama, thriller, or action movie. As it stands it had all those elements but not in a good way.
