88 MINUTES - 5/10 - Al Pacino's latest movie. Like a lot of movies started out well enough, but this one was probably pretty good for at least half the movie. Then it just turned to much into a who dunnit movie that just sapped the life out of everything. On the plus side Al seemed to be past the screaming figure he's been so often in the past, and has finally gotten back to actually acting.

I don't feel this apology was sincere. :nono:

I'm going to speak with my Serbian buddy who has connections in the community. The mail order bride-goat that you're waiting for is going to experience an unfortunate delay.

COCAINE COWBOYS - 10/10 - Documentary about 80's cocaine boom and the violence that surrounded it. They go really in depth interviewing many of the main guys who actually flew the cocaine straight from columbia and how they did it. They go in depth on all the interviews and these guys tell it all. They also talk about a lot of the violent hits that went on during this time. There was one columbian hitman (the main guy) who if they did a movie about his life Cliff Curtis from Die Hard 4 and Training Day would be perfect to play him. I mean he sounds just like the guy and even kind of remembles him if I'm not mistaken. You'll see a lot of the kind of things that were in Blow here. Some of these guys had their techniques down so well that they could have done this for years and probably not got caught. I likened this documentary to reading a great book that you can't put down. Once I started it, I didn't want to stop for nothing. I highly recommend it.

I, osfan, hereby sincerely apologize to Mr. Whiskey for laughing at him getting owned by Mr. Gatti. Furthermore, osfan will voluntarily check into a no-hate support group here at the St. Andrew Church in SF for learning the concept of respect to others.

    Pretty good movie. :bears:

I'm surprised Dane Cook got such a big role in a movie like this. His performance was ok. Somehow still trying to be funny:dunno:

Never seen Kevin Costner in a movie like this either. Demi Moore still looks hot - whatever age she is.:bears:

    I loved American Gangster.

Cocaine Cowboys was very good too, but it really dragged.

I haven't seen this one but Costner has more range then people give him credit for. He's been in plenty of stinkers but he was excellent in the bad guy/good guy role in "A Perfect World".

He was also the only one worth a damn in that Elvis impersonator caper movie set in Las Vegas. I don't remember what it's called and don't care to look it up.

American Gangster was enjoyable enough. Pretty good, but should've been better. Denzel's character wasn't developed enough and they should've had more about him and not Crowe's character.

Here's an article about Frank Lucas.
