Great story,great acting all around. But sort of falls flat for it's last 50 or so minutes. As with all other movies these days,this just doesn't seem to know how to end!!

Great flick though!! Highly recommended:bears: As with "No Country For Old Men",both are 10 star movies,but get bumped down to 8 star for their last quarter!

it's an old ass movie from 1980 about this big ass alligator who lives in the sewer and comes out to eat people.

 

That sounds better than 20% of the movies I've watched in my lifetime. I'll check it out.

Maybe the best movie of the last few years IMO.

Fantastic performance by Hugh Jackman (who upstages Christian Bale), wonderful directing job by Christopher Nolan, and Scarlet Johansson - well, 'nuff said! ::

 

Agreed. The Prestige shoulda been Oscar nominated.

 

Hugh Jackman is not a bad actor, he just doesn't seem to go for the more meaty roles...Not that they're comparable but its a bit like Gene Hackman, starred and shone in a handful of very good films and about a million half-assed movies

This movie does have a story to tell and it is not relying on fierce mixed martial arts action to please the audience. It's 1 hr 40 minutes long which is about right. If you dont want to see it in theater, definitely a fine choice for DVD rental.

Usually actors start settling in to playing themselves later in their careers. Jackman has been playing Hugh Jackman since before Wolverine. Or is he always playing Wolverine..............I can't tell sometimes. :dunno:

 

Resurrection man. This is a a film from about 10 years ago focusing on
an interesting episode in the war in Northern Ireland, when a bunch of psychopaths with political loyalities went about killing catholics and other loyalists (the shankhill butchers). It captures the grottiness of 70s Belfast reasonably well, but it suffers from a terrible piece of miscasting, giving the central villian role to Stuart Townsend, who plays it much like he played lestat the vampire in that piece of shit movie, queen of the damned. 5/10.

 

What's the name of that similar movie about the NI war, it's a bit older though. It's about some young guy who goes on a killing spree in that war.

A two hour movie with about 2 pages worth of dialog in the entire flick!! I'm seriously not exaggerating that,it's about 2 pages!!

Good flick,but with so little dialog,you have a hard time understanding exactly what the entire movie was about. From what I got,it's about a space mission to Jupiter after humans unearthed a Monolith on the Moon that was deliberately buried their 4.2 million years ago.

The spaceship that is carrying the crew is a powered by a cimputer called the "HAL 9000" (HAL=IBM),but HAL sabotages the mission which is discoved that the mission itself was to find the origins of man.

Now this movie could of been so much better,but with absolutley next to no dialog,the entire thing is left for you to try and ponder what it's about!! Good,but wank at the same time!! Typical Kubrick film!!
