    You liked both movies?

I thought it woulda been more suspenseful if they'd ditched the creatures and the cave drawings and the finding the way out.

It wouldn't have been a horror movie in that case, but it would've been more suspenseful...and more watchable.

Can't wait to see the second one...Juno's revenge.

Edit: I just read that there were different endings. From reading the unedited (extended) ending it sounds much better.

I did think for awhile the cave creatures were going to be some sort of psychological hallucination and it was one of the crazy bitches going around killing everybody.

Now that would have been a movie. :bears:

Which ending did you see? Or have you seen them both?

I wouldn't be surprised if there's a lot of that in the next one...whereupon investigation things didn't happen quite as Sarah saw them.

Doing some reading up on the movie, I guess in the hospital seen where she tries to outrun the darkness there were ideas about having a crawler at the end of it...but that would've taken away any belief that they were real later in the story.

I saw the one where it ends with her in the car at the side of the road.

The other version has a scene after that...about a minute long.

    I liked this movie.

I'd give it a 6.5/10 or 7/10, but for the genre closer to a 8/10.

I agree that it doesn't maintain it as well as it could have, but it was still a pretty good movie for what it was.

For those that didn't like it, I'm not sure what else they were expecting from it.

(I do think the last seconds of the movie were a bit too "Hollywood")

Xplosive, it is based very loosely on real events. When the writer (or the director) was a kid, a bunch of burglars were knocking on each doors in his neighbourhood to know if there was someone inside. If no one was there, they broke in and stole valuable stuff. He was in his house alone with his sister and someone knocked, I think the burglar noticed them even though they didn't answer and broke in another house. He was very scared and this story inspired him the movie.

5.5/10--I'm being generous because it was a good time killer. Recycled storylines mixed together with CGI beasts. If you want to know how the pyramids really were built, watch this movie :laughing:

Watched a few movies over the past week.

    Eastern Promises

    7/10

Good, confronting film about a common topic. I enjoyed the storyline and while I thought a couple of actors were poor choices for their roles, they still played them pretty well.

A couple of VERY powerful scenes, which are gonna be hard to forget.

    Vacancy

    4/10

Fucking crap. I understand the concept and point behind the film, but it was done so poorly that the B-grade look dropped down two many letters. Owen Wilson is a shocking actor, so I expected him to shine in this...but somehow, they found ascript writer that was actually unable to do Wilson justice. How is that even possible?

    Shaun of the Dead

    6/10

Seen it before but its a great laugh. Not quite as good as I remembered, but its a really enjoyable, amusing little film. I love the work of these guys. Hot Fuzz was one of my favourite movies of last year.

Namoi Watts was an odd choice, IMO. I never believed her role as the scared, unknowing, do-gooding nurse.

And although he only played a minor role, the guy who played the barber distracted me every time he was on camera.

I loved Kirill, Uncle Stepan, Nikolai and Seymon though.

    Indiana Jones (the new one)

7/10 A very good and entertaining flick but you expect so much when it is about Indy and this one wasn't quite as good as the earlier ones. Still much better than the other re-dos of 70s and 80s meaning Rocky, Rambo and Die Hard

KUNG FU PANDA 8/10 very entertaining family film. A little slow at the first part, but the one liners and rollercoaster last 30 minutes saved it from being another ANT BULLY. Jack Black as the voice of Po the panda is a riot.

My same reaction. I left the theater very dissapointed with the whole ET angle and the no plot mindless chase sequences. On the other hand it was a treat to see Karen Allen back as Marion...as well as the "Raiders" ark cameo.

A few low point in the movie..but the action scenes are GREAT..when John Rambo is taking Gods sheeps up river to the village..and they are stop by the guerrillas..and Rambo just blast 'em away..:hammert:....and pussy ass Joe King goes on why you do that you don't have teh right to kill people...even after Rambo told them that his wife/girlfriend would've been raped 100x...but that still wasn't reason enough to kill...fuck out of here...

This M. Night movie started out with great promise, but dont expect to find a clearcut explanation as to why these events happened. In the end, the movie switched gear and it feels like a chick flick. Unlike Lady In The Water, M. Night didnt show up on-screen though you can still hear his voice.

SkinWalkers: 3/10 Two packs of werewolfs one feeds on teh blood of humans..the other apparently doesn't and they just crazy jacket themselves up so they don't go out feeding at full moon...A half breed like Obama controls the destiny of the werewolfs..the Pacifist werewolfs want to save him so the prophecy can be fulfilled, the real werewolfs want to kill him...the prophecy being that in the next full moon if they kid is still alive he will show the way to stop the werewolfs(his blood)...

The Village: 3/10 Good enough movie till the truth is revealed....which you can see coming but hope to be wrong.

[Rec] - Spanish horror flick shot in the style of the Blair Witch Project. I thought it was a pretty good concept, but the movie was just too low budget to make it believable. Awesome idea, just poor execution.

I wanted to see the original version of the movie before the US remake (Quarantine) comes out. The trailer/teaser of Quarantine had be pretty hyped up, but was afraid that they would completely butcher the movie (like the majority of US remakes). I think for this particular flick, a US budget might actually make the film better just as long as they dont dumb it down to sell it to the teenie bopper crowd.

THE INCREDIBLE HULK: 8/10 I was pleasantly surprised by this new version of the Hulk. Maybe my expectations were too low because of the dissapointment of the previous one. Anyway this one is closer to the tv show premise, but with the added and welcomed fast pace of a typical Louis Leterrier film (The Transporter) and expected marvel comics "Hulk smash!" action sequences. You know the story; David Bruce Banner messes with gamma rays in an experiment going wrong, turns into the Hulk, the Army is after him, turns fugitive. And that was during the opening credits in another homage to the Bill Bixby series. Heck, even Lou Ferrigno turns a cameo role in this film! Edward Norton is good as usual, but not memorable as Robert Downey Jr in IRONMAN. The clash between the Hulk and the Abomination in the streets of New York is classic comic book fare coming to life. And check the final scene of the film for the biggest treat of the summer. That alone was worth the ticket price and points out to bigger and better things in store for future summers! My only problems with the film was that as good as an actor as Norton is, his Dr. Banner was not sympathetic enough for the audience to care for him nor to feel his 'pain'. Another thing is that I never really liked the tv show that much with his Jekyll & Hyde approach which was not what the Hulk comic was all about. Anyway the references to the show were subtle and nice like the "Don't make me angry...you will not like it when I am angry" homage line but with a funny twist. Anyway it was waaay better than the first one. Go see it.[IMG]
