I went to see W last night, I was actually surprised at how good it was.

I reckon get W back on the beer and re-elect him :mj:

zac and miri - 4/10 easily one of kevin smith's worst films next to jersey girl. can't believe this movie actually got good reviews. seth rogen's acting is getting tiresome. he pretty much plays the same character in just about every movie he's in.

diving bell and the butterfly - 8/10 based on the memoir of an elle magazine editor who wrote it while he was paralyzed. excellent directing, sound and editing done throughout.

The Assasination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford - Surprisingly fantastic movie. After seeing it I am shocked by many of the negative reviews I've seen on here.

I know it wasn't an action packed movie but I found it fascinating and it held my attention throughout. Reminded be of a Terrence Malick film............very cerebral thoughts and images broken up by short, realistic bursts of violence.

I think it was Brad Pitt's most complete performance of his career and I can't believe Casey Affleck is any relation at all to Ben. Not just the quality of acting either...............you look at the Baldwin brothers and most are not very good at all in comparison to Alec but you easily recognize them as brothers.

Ben and Casey seem like they have nothing in common whatsoever. You would never guess they were brothers if you didn't already know.

Terrific film...............but if you have a short attention span and don't really like getting into the subtleties of certain types of movies then don't bother.

I saw The Last Boyscout again. One of the great action/comedy movies of the 90s.

Milo: You think you are so ****ing cool, don't you? You think you are so ****ing cool. But just once, I would like to hear you scream in pain...
Bruce Willis: Play some rap music.

Don't waste your time. The majority of the "action" scenes are showed in the trailer. The story sucks too. I didn't see the original so I'm judging this one on it's own and I won't see it again or recommend it to anyone.

I only saw the trailer, but judging by his "You should let me go" line, Keeanu Reeves will make a strong push for the Best Actor Oscar in a few months.

    DEATH RACE

    SCORE - 6.5/10

PREMISE - In the near future prisons hold violent battle car races on PPV. When the most popular racer is killed the warden frames Statham for a murder so he can come to prison and take the guys place.

CRITIQUE - Even though I'm not a fan of car chase/action scenes in movies, I found this movie and the car scenes pretty good. In other words this movie was better than I expected. Statham dispenses with any of his karate fights, but the story and action was pretty solid here. One of the biggest flaws of the movie was probably a lack of any one standout character in the movie. Everyone did a solid job but nobody stood out, not even Statham.

    MAX PAYNE

    SCORE - 1/10

PREMISE - To be honest I don't even know what the story was about. What I do know is Wahlberg plays a cop named Max Payne who's wife was killed. There seems to be some drug being circulated that causes people to hallucinate about angels or something.

CRITIQUE - Movie starts out with a flashback, but I had no idea where the flashback ended. It felt like you were thrown in the middle of a movie, the acting was terrible by many of the actors including Ludacris. The movie was just all around terrible and had no redeming quality whatsoever. Funny thing is, I had no desire to see this movie until I saw the trailer which looked awesome which seems to prove my theory that Hollywood no longer seems to care about making a quality movie but rather about making a quality trailer that will draw the people in.

KISS OF DEATH BONUS - This movie was so bad it earned my kiss of death bonus. That basically means I stopped the movie midway through and walked away.

I missed the "Racist Hollywood moment" in those reviews. That's usually the best part. :bears:

Yeah the Max Payne trailer looked awesome. Wahlberg's been on a pretty bad run. "Shooter" was one of the worst big budget movies I've seen in awhile to.

Zach and Miri make a Porno 5/10

Funny moments, really disgusting moments...and alot of just the same old shit you'd expect from this crew. It just gets a little less funny every time they do it.

Sounds more like a remake of Arnold's THE RUNNING MAN than a remake of David Carradine's DEATH RACE 2000 on which it was based.
