Okay, 9 months later, here's my opinion on Cocaine Cowboys 2.

Alright, nothing special. The first one was definitely better. Having the dealer based in the Bay Area made it a little more interesting to me, but overall it was kind of blah.

 at him fucking that old fat Godmother and calling her "beautiful". The things people do for money (I guess if I was a cocaine dealer I'd do the same thing though).

This movie was not worth renting. Wait for HBO or SHowtime if you even watch it at all. It was just about some black crack dealer who happened to get his cocaine from the Godmother. They went into a little bit more detail about the Godmother's story, but overall it was mostly about how this dude hooked up with the Godmother used to bang her on congigal visits and stuff. If pt 1 was a 10 this one is a 4.

The Hangover - OK, I think the high expectations killed it for me. It was actually fairly enjoyable but these damn reviewers need to stop declaring every halfway decent comedy "The Best Comedy Of The Decade"

Basically a 30-something version of "Road Trip". Zack Galifinackus (sp?) stole the show, which I wasn't surprised about. I've been a fan for awhile and it was good to see him get a high profile movie role. He's actually a fairly brilliant (and weird) dude but he plays the bumbling idiot to perfection here.

The little asian dude was funny in his opening scene but never again for the remainder of the movie.

The Mike Tyson segment is fairly anti-climactic if you've already seen the trailer. Some laugh out load scenes and some that didn't quite work. Lots of the typical themes from a Todd Phillips movie are here.

Character #1 - Boy gets girl, Boy almost loses girl, Boy gets girl in the end

Character #2 - Boy has girl, Girl is a bitch, Boy finds other wild girl who accepts him for who he is and opens his eyes to the rest of the world, Boy dumps the bitch.

Character #3 - Boy portrays himself as a wild man who loves the ladies and regrets ever getting married when in front of his friends. Boy is actually a devoted family man who loves his wife and his kids.

Character #4 - Boy is a buffoon or outcast who doesn't quite fit in with the rest of the group. By the end of the movie he not only fits in with the rest of the group but is probably the coolest one of the bunch.

Female characters - They are either...........The perfect girl next door who everybody wants to marry.................a complete bitch who you probably wouldn't mind fucking but might put a sock in her mouth by morning..............a whore with a heart of gold.

All in all, worth a see but tamp your expectations a bit. The reviewers have gone a bit overboard on this one.

    7/10

I agree with your first statement. It was good but not great. I may have liked it more if I didn't hear things about it and/or if I hadn't seen the trailer.

What was with the Asian dude's genital region? His pubes had a weird shape and you couldn't tell if he had a cock or not.

I think that picture of the weird guy getting a blowjob was real. If so, I can't believe they were allowed to show it.

    Transformers:

    Borderline shite.

I guess the novelty wears of pretty quick. Half the time you cant even see them transform just flashing lights and sounds

The dialogue is pure horse manure.

Now I'm a Megan Fox fan but seriously any excuse for her to pout her lips or pose have well and truly been exhausted.

And the punk lead actor, has there ever been a more annoying actor :kick:

The Happening - I honestly don't know where all the bad reviews came from regarding this movie. This was, and I say this with a straight face..................one of the best comedies of All-Time. Is Mark Wahlberg being considered for the Three Stooges movie, because he gives us one of the greatest comic performances since Nick Cage in "The Wicker Man".

GTFOH with "The Hangover". This is the best comedy of the Decade. M. Night is a genius and Mark Wahlberg is almost as good at playing Mark Wahlberg as Andy Samberg.

It is an incredibly shit film, almost like one of those infamous ed wood movies from the 50s...the plot is ludicrous, the characters are one dimensional and look like they're reading off cue cards, its like a parody of the rest of his films, only thing I'd diasgree is that I thought you were generous with your rating

Into The Wild - Fantastic movie. I didn't find it depressing at all. Maybe the very end when you know the inevitable is about to come but otherwise I actually found it quite the opposite.

The kid in the story was obviously NOT a depressive, just a minimalist who probably should have taken a few lessons from Bear Grylls before he ventured out into the woods.

It made me want to go live out in the woods and forget about all the typical shit for awhile.

Then I quickly remembered I hate bugs.............and camping.

If you like Terence Malick movies you'll probably like this flick, if you don't you probably won't.

Did it just hit cable? I thoroughly enjoyed this movie.

The stories of Christopher McCandless, and Timothy Treadwell, certainly make for interesting character studies.

Yes, I had it saved on my DVR for awhile and just watched it the other night.

I found both McCandless and Treadwell fascinating myself. They both came to similar tragic ends although they are complete contrasts to each other.

Treadwell was much more knowledgeable of his landscape and was a bit of a media whore at the same time. He had the skills to live out in the wild as long as he wanted. His problem was, he was batshit crazy.

McCandless just sort of improvised as he went along. Sometimes he was successful and sometimes he failed miserably. More of a "Survivorman" then a "Bear Grylls" I guess. Unlike Treadwell he hated to bring attention to himself, imprinting himself on other people just long enough to make them miss him once he was gone.

Damn, I probably sound like a dork. Maybe I'm just happy because it seems like it's been awhile since I've seen a really good movie, rather then just a "pretty good, it's ok" sort of flick.

I've gotten to the point my 14 year-old and I will search out horrible cable movies for the express purpose of making fun of it for 90 minutes or so. Sometimes that's more entertaining then a lot of the ho hum, it's well made but who cares sort of movies I've been seeing lately.

CHE PART 1: I was impressed. Not only Benicio Del Toro did a great job portraying Che Guevara, but the film pulls you into whole guerrilla life that you could almost feel that mosquitoes are going to bite your neck in the mountains of Sierra Maestra , Cuba. I put the DVD with the intention to start watching just a few minutes, since I was planning to do something else at that time, and found myself so enthralled by the plot that I just watched the whole film and by the time the credits came out, I was like, "Damn, I NEED to rent part 2!" Is a very good film, but I can see why the cuban exiles boycotted it: not only it portrays Guevara as a benign revolutionary, which he was not, but it almost makes you cheer for Castro & Guevara when they finally defeat Batista's army and take control of Cuba. My only regret was that: Guevara was a very passionate marxist (we don't hear not even once him muttering any marxist speech) and was, reportedly, a cold blooded murderer, who executed himself many of his own people when they failed to follow his orders. We see Che here as a human being, but we don't know why he became a revolutionary in the first place or what his motivations are for getting involved in Cuba. Anyway, I did enjoyed this film and recommend it. 8/10

    The Hangover 8/10.

Great movie and one the best comedies this year, didn't know anything about this film so I wasn't expecting much. Some funny messes up situations that I'm sure we have all experienced at some stage.

Burn After Reading - A completely unspectacular Coen Brothers movie. Pretty decent concept. Kind of an anti-spy movie where the characters are not as smart or as important as they think they are.

However a lot of the scene set-ups didn't make much sense to me and they probably could have done without the star-studded cast. I felt like I was watching "Oceans 11", but this time the characters were retarded.

Coen brothers are at the top of my list of directors but this has to be their weakest effort. It just feels rushed and slapped together.

It was horrible and completely unfunny. The stars were there for an obvious reason. Without them this was a made for tv movie.

i quite liked burn after reading. of course it's more lebowski than no country for old men, but still a neat little absurdist black comedy. malkovich's disgruntled pedant character is compelling.

"you represent the mediocrity i have been fighting all my life"
    "i don't represent anything"

Yeah, I liked the movie, and the entire theme of it sorta fit into the google-map bookends they gave it.

I enjoyed it much more than say Tropic Thunder, which seemed to go downhill after the fake previews.

I think it was actually closer to a Charlie Kaufman inspired movie then any of the dark comedy the Coen Brothers have done before.

It wasn't horrible, I think I just had higher expectations from them and thought it was put together pretty haphazardly.

Well it was mostly based on Che's diary in Bolivia. Of course we all know that he failed miserably trying to repeat a Cuban-like revolution in Bolivia so this one is a downer. But it is well made.

CHE Part II Like Illu pointed out is skips the whole segment of Che's life as cuban politico and starts as he 'disappears' and ends up in Bolivia. Why he choose Bolivia instead of Chile which was more inclined toward a radical political change at the time, is a mystery. We see the day by day struggle and efforts of these handful guerrilleros trying just to survive in the mountains of Bolivia and trying in vain to start a revolution that even themselves are not sure will succeed. Only Che keeps them going, but when he is not around the group starts falling apart like Che's health. by the end we witness his capture (with the aid of good old USA military resources) and his execution. I was left wanting to see a scene where they took the infamous photos of his cadaver. A scene that can be seen in the FIDEL tv movie with Gael García Bernal as Che Guevara where the whole Bolivia excursion lasted only five minutes. CHE Part II is a good film, but it drags at time only because you know that all the efforts of these characters are in vain and you wish they could listen to the voice of reason, here is the communist party leader, Monjo, played nicely by Lou Diamond Phillips, who predicts that they will not only fail, but will die for nothing since the country was not ready for an armed revolution. Like Castro once said, "There is nothing more antirevolutionary, than an ultrarevolutionary on a prerevolutionary stage." 7 1/2-10

It was a pretty good movie. The bomb diffusing scenes are intense. I wouldn't want that job for sure! I recommend it.
