Just watched 3:10 To Yuma. Really enjoyed it, thought both leade actors did a great job. Also thought the guy playing Charlie was great too.

I think I'm going to do that.

I agree about the love story being vital to the box office success. Especially since it was Leonardo Dicaprio, it got all the teenage girls flocking to the theaters and made all that money.

I fucking hated the love story though. I thought their chemistry was overrated. The love story between a man and a blue 20 foot creature in Avatar was more "moving" than that in Titanic. Simba & Nala was a more compelling love story than that. Tom Cruise and Val Kilmer in Top Gun was a better love story than that. I didn't even really care when Dicaprio died in the movie. It was much more sad watching the other people in the movie die, who were in the film all of 10 seconds.

keanu Reeves as always a terrible actor was so bad in Dracula he was actually funny.

I always laugh when I see him "acting" in this movie.

I thought he was decent in Devil's Advocate, but usually yes, he's a bad actor. So damn wooden.

Keanu is always good when the character hasn't got a clue, for example bill and ted, the matrix and to a certain extent the devils advocate. I would imagine in life Keanu is very similar, plodding along oblivious to the world around him. That is why is can 'play' those characters

Yes I really think they could have done better and by all accounts Coppola agrees. I didn't totally hate Winona in it but that may be due to acting alongside Keanu.

It speaks to your acting skill if you're out-acted by Monica Bellucci's tits.

    Oldman was good. Hopkins also.

A Short Film About Killing: An extended version of one of the episodes of Polish director Krzystof Kieslowski's Decalogue series, which had 10 different segments based on one of the Ten Commandments. Obviously the title shows you which one this is about. If you're looking for an artistic, well-made, graphically violent movie then watch this. If you want a light, entertaining movie, stay the fuck away from this. This is dark enough to make the average Coen brothers flick look like Airplane.

I once saw him being interviewed back stage during some awards show right around the time of the Matrix' big success breakout. He was so spaced out my thought was that there was no fucking way in hell he wasn't high. And I'm not talking some chronic or weed, this had to be some heavy shit he was on.

 I have often thought that myself but I just think he's like that.

I went to see The Wolfman last night. Oh sweet jesus. What a let down. The script is awful and the last 45 minutes is pure torture.

Matt LeBlanc's lack of personality is why people have told me he's actually a pretty good actor. I hardly ever watched Friends, but I heard he was on a couple talk shows and has absolutely no personality or humor whatsoever so he really is acting when he's on the screen.

Finally watched it and........ 6 out of 10

Had it's moments but honestly felt like it never went anywhere. The main characters arc was incomplete and the ending felt underdone. It begins as an indictment on the drug culture in Brazil and the corruption in Brazilian police and then jumps dramatically into a completely different film altogether. The first half of this film has little to nothing in common with the second. It wasn't a great choice.

Gatti says this is going to have a sequel so I'll watch that to see how it goes. Perhaps both films viewed as a whole will help the story hold up better.

It is worth a watch but I wouldn't buy it nor would I be in a rush to watch it again. On the plus side, I think the main actor/narrator was quite good. He did a very convincing job in his panic attack scenes. It is not a bad film but it just feels like it missed the mark for me.

This movie also received an outstanding 8.5/10 on IMDB which says a lot. I've been wanting to see this for a while and can't wait to check it out. Dicapprio is slowly becoming one of Hollywoods top actors. He hasn't been in a dude since before Gang's of New York.

I have no interest in watching this film since I figured out the plot when I saw the trailer months ago. Looked very predictable to me.

A Serious Man Nominated for Best Picture of the Year...WTF? this is one of the worst movies I have seen in a long time. Boring as hell. Just because is from the Coen brothers critics are raving and hyping it, but honestly this is no FARGO. A jewish teacher dealing with his unfaithful wife, his totally out of touch children, his good for nothing live in brother and a korean kid trying to bribe him. This premise had potential, but instead it is painful to watch and you don't give a damn about the guy anyway. Avoid this one! 2/10

The Last House on The Left I never watched the original because I don't care about this kind of film, but since we rented it, I gave it a try. I found it was ok. Not a great film, but it did worked for me. The main bad guy was a lousy actor and ruined the film as well as the dad. The females did a better job, except for the teen girl who gets murdered. The rape scene was hard to watch though. 6/10

The Wolfman Since the original Lon Chaney film has never been scary to me, it was nice to see this version actually making an effort to be scary. It works for a good chunk of the film. I loved the fact that it was set on the victorian era (my favorite era for the horror genre). Benicio Del Toro did an acceptable performance as Lawrence Talbot, but he avoided comparisons with Chaney Jr. by leaving out the anguish and remorse that Chaney injected to his character. To me this was a huge mistake. Lawrence Talbot needed to be a conflicted soul, not just a "Oh shoot now I'll turn into a werewolf!" kind of attitude that DeL Toro seemed to be channelling. Anthony Hopkins did an incredible lousy job here. One of the most gifted actors of this era and he seemed to be reciting his lines as if he was reading them on a cardboard off camera. It felt like his acting was done via phone since he seemed so distant from everything. Ah, but we had Hugo Weaving saving the film. He and Emily Blunt were truly great here, even though Ms Blunt role was very predictable, she made it honest and real. The action(or carnage?) sequence were very good and though the climax was a little corny (and predictable) I still enjoyed it. 8/10

Yep. Ridiculously predictable with mediocre acting. 5/10 at best.

I had this saved on my DVR for quite awhile but didn't watch it because of the length of the film. Finally got around to sitting down and watching it today.

First, let me say. Spike Lee is one of my favorite directors. I really don't give a shit about his views or his public persona. He's had a couple duds, but even his lesser movies (Girl 6, Bamboozled) have a certain stylistic flair or redeeming quality that makes them somewhat entertaining and bearable. I had been looking forward to seeing this film for awhile despite the mixed reviews that had been floating around.

That being said............I don't know WTF happened when Spike was making this dud. It looked like a first-time director who was about to become a last-time director was thrown the script for this movie.

Maybe he's just incapable of making a War movie. He certainly cannot frame a battle scene competently. I could think of at least a dozen directors off the top of my head who would have done better justice to this particular story then Spike did.

From the head-scratching 30 second cameo by John Leguizamo near the beginning to the laughably bad "touching moment" at the end, it was just shlock piled on top of horrible battle scenes, clunky dialogue..............and, incredibly hard to read sub-titles for the non-English portions of the movie.

Did Spike hire a ghost director to make this movie? Did Roberto Benigni kidnap Spike and make this piece of shit himself? Did nobody realize the Italian kid in the movie couldn't act for shit, just because he was speaking Italian? Did Spike lose interest because the producers didn't want him to put himself in an acting part?

    I don't know, but I'm disappointed.

    Bad Spike, Bad!!! :nono:

Di Caprio wasn't that great, but all the other actors did a good job. I agree it was predictable but I don't think the movie even tried to be mysterious. I liked the dark atmosphere of the movie.

Pandorum - 3.5/10 - An epic shit sandwich of a movie. Wasn't worth watching, once I started it, it wasn't worth finishing but I didn't realize that until it was over. You couldn't pay me to sit through this movie again. I read other reviews of this where people compared it to Avatar or questioned why it didn't stay in the theaters. All I have to say to that is ..:atu:

    The wolfman was shite.

The first 20 minutes was pretty cool with arms and legs getting ripped off in a flash and the audience only caught a glimpse of the beasts. After that it sucked balls.

Hopkins was awful, the put some gel in his hair and the 'mysteriously' turns evil. That was pathetic and the face off at the end made my eyes bleed.
