Frightening how fast that bear was though right? Came out of nowhere at lightening speed. I'm staying the hell away from deep forest in North America!

You left off Bronson, Lawless, and The Drop. He was excellent in all three of those movies.

He's only 38 years old. How the Hell has he peaked? 38 is baby years in acting.

His best performance is without question Bane. I know people love to dick ride Ledger's performance as Joker, because Ledger died. But in REALITY, Hardy as Bane was JUST AS good as Ledger's Joker. It might seem like blasphemy to say that, but it's true.

I dunno if I exaggerated with top 5, but to me he's definitely in the upper echelon of current actors. If we're talking about actors under 40... I think he's right behind Gyllenhall,

I did forget about Bronson, which IMO was his best performance now that you reminded me. Lawless and The drop were just average performances that anyone could have pulled off. I dont see him as upper echelon. We shall see.

And yet none of you have mentioned his best 'acting' yet in 'Locke'.

I thought he was good Locke. It wasn't ground breaking shit or anything like that, but solid work. He's never had a BAD acting performance that I've seen.

Bane is one of the best villains of the last 15 years.

He should be casted as a villain more often. Based on Batman, and The Revenant, I think he shines the most in villain roles.

Better actor: Hardy or Fassbender? Sly, don't chime in. We know your answer.

Fassbender is better imo because he is constantly improving. i think Hardy has peaked and has become quite lazy.

I actually like both. I think Fassbender is a better choice for Bond, if it comes down to the two (which it might). I think Hardy is capable of playing a better villain than Fassbender. Although, Fassbender was pretty ruthless in 12 Years a Slave.

AgREED. He was laughable in 'Legend'. IMO.

The Krays are so piss-easy to play.

I'd say Fassbender overall but Hardy is close. Fassbender was absolutely superb in "Inglorious Basterds"...even though his role was brief and I've seen him in a few other films where he maintains a high standard. Hardy was GREAT as Bane and is consistently a good performer too, but Fassbender has the edge.

fassbender aint gonna be no bond man. Bond has never been a major star. This is the likely new bond. Damian Lewis

Damien Lewis would be a HORRIBLE choice for Bond. Disastrous. First a short, blond ugly Bond in Craig and now an ugly redhead? If they choose Lewis then I have to say that the casting team for the Bond franchise are clueless.

I agree that they don't use main stream stars for Bond, but that aside Fassbender would be the perfect choice.

I forgot about his role in 12 years a slave...he was very good in that also. Fassbender was also a good villain (well...Anti-Hero) as Magneto.

It's not my choice. He has been the frontrunner for a while. My choice is Richard armitage. I wanted him to play batman, but he would be a brilliant bond.

Looks like the ultimate MeteroSexual with little muscle-definition but a lot of skin-care products.

    Listens to Coldplay.

I agree with you in that Hardy delivered the performance compared to the other nominees and also agree with your earlier statement that Hardy out-acted DiCaprio, whose performance in this film btw is far from his best ever. But Hardy will not win (this is Stallone's swan song year) and Leo will win just because he is Leo and needs to finally get a fucking Oscar!
