So women in Muslim countries can go out in public alone, drive cars, run for public office and not worry some nut job suicide bomber will try to assassinate them, sit in a car with a man and not be put on trial for it, and found guilty of treason if SHE is raped by a gang? Interesting.
dsimon writes: So Christians have the virtue of being egalitarian... Lets not forget that the Puritans also were totally egalitarian, women had as much freedom as men, including to pursue business interests, I mean after all a nickel earned was a nickel earned, so to speak... but of course if they got too powerful they could be called a witch and viscoulsy murdered, unlike the menfolk. Christian white males in similar fashion are content not to mutilate women, but god help women who don't want to raise a family or who are considered appropriate to serve the interests of the preacher man when he wants to go to a motel and do some ass fucking. :nono: Muslims hardly corner the market on Misygony Hairy. Your one of my favorite posters and that will probably never change but like a few others have said.... i think you are backing the wrong horse in this race cowboy! :nono: ::
No, you misunsderstand me, DS. I am above all else a Democrat. I am a union man. I absolutely hate everything the fucking Republicans stand for because they only do so to trick poor and middle class voters into voting for them, and then screw the same group once they are in office. I thought I made it clear when I started this thread that as in the case of the ancient runner to the king, don't kill the messenger. And the message is this: IF THE DEMS NOMINATE OBAMA, THEY WILL LOSE!!! To me, it is more important that we get the goddamn Republicans out of the White House so real progress can be made on healthcare, equitable taxation, equal rights, etc., the traditional bread and butter issues of Democrats. Absolutely if Obama could dismiss the questions I have raised, which are questions the Republicans WILL RAISE, I as a loyal Democrat would vote for him. Now understand what I just said. If I, as a lifelong Democrat - hell I can remember watching an Adlai Stevenson speech on TV as a kid - have this much doubt and trouble over supporting Obama, what in the name of Heaven do you thinks the 40% of Americans who say they are "independent" are going to do? The evangelicals will make sure - if he is nominated - that he loses Texas, Tennessee, Virginia, the South in general, and if he wins the fruit state (Cal.) and NY or even somehow sweeps New England, he will have his ass handed to him on a platter. He will win the John Kerry states, the GOP wins the rest, and the election is theirs. Know why a lot has not gotten done the last two years since the Dems took Congress back over? Congress was not veto proof. But if the Dems nominate a Dem that can win - and Obama can't and his supporters are living in a dream world if they think he can - with a Dem in the White House and in control of Congress, Jesus! Real Progress could be made. And if it weren't, vote their stinking ass out in 2010. But Obama's supporters don't seem to be able to see the bigger picture. I'm not so much afraid of Obama being President as I am that this country would be under 4 more fucking years of Republican executive control. And Oprah, or whoever, seems to be to goddamn stupid to realize that. So Ds, for the greator good of the country, Obama must not be nominated.
dsimon writes: yeah I did misunderstand you, that makes sense. I have not even really considered whether Obama is electable in my utter hate for Hillary.:dunno:
healthcare? universal healthcare is a terrible idea dems what MORE taxes, and they want to spend ridiculously (universal healthcare for one) equal rights? the dems are the only ones that specifically target racial groups for votes, i dont see how they can claim to be more in tune with equal rights when they specifically target groups, i mean christ, that seems so divisive to me, it points out race more than it pushes it back you should be targeting vote from all americans, not just pandering to specific races fuck the democrats, and im not even rich, hell im a poor bastard, and my parents are in what i would consider the lower middle class, real low middle class, not only that im an atheist, so im not some nuthugging evangelical either
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WsPIRSuSFq0 at 1:50 of this video (msnbc dem debate from 15th jan) he gives what you asked for, hairy. he's christian and he swore his oath on the bible.
I'm a tell you what. If Obama wins the presidency he's gonna be blamed for all the issues in the US. He will be blamed for the deficit, terriorsim and everything else. I'll Holla 5000
Republicans don't search out racial groups? I recall Bush trying to win over the Hispanic vote, didn't have to go too far back to find that instance :dunno: All parties do this :nono:
Bush has that on lock :bears: The only reason Obama would get those kudos, is from revisionist Republicans....
So he didn't campaign for Latinos and Republicans don't do that Lol @ the nephew the reason behind his campaign tactics.
Whatever I and I. I never said that. I said its not hard to campaign for the Latin vote when your nephew is half mexican and looks that like that.
