Not true at all. Ledger stood out because the performance was terrific, but put in another Joker and you still have a quality movie. Bale was very good, Eckhart was fantastic and so was Oldman. The story all around was just wonderful. The whole concept of Good and Evil was displayed better than anything i have seen in a long time.

V for Vendetta was fucking GARBAGE

The Dark Knight was a hundred times better, even if 99% of that was due to Heath Ledger

I think it could have been good but I didn't like it... It's Cruise... I just find him horrible to watch, he's like an android, soulless... vacant eyes

He could make any movie, no matter how otherwise good, a tough watch for me... I don't believe him... He has a creepy, plastic quality... Like the uncanny valley

I fancy that was deliberate. His character is meant to be pretty soulless and vacant.

I think he was great in Born on the 4th of July.

The vacant aspect actually helped when he was playing the young naïve pro military flag waiver type.

I agree V sucked, it tried to be more clever than it actually was, and for the record Tom Cruise is the goods. All actors seem to have their fair share of haters but for some reason Cruise has always surprised me with how many guys actually can't stand him. Sometimes I think they're just jealous of his good looks or something. I'm glad I'm not a hater of his because it would cause me to miss out on a lot of very good movies of his I thoroughly enjoy.
All of the Mission Impossible films (except the horrible part 2)
    Night and Day
    Jack Reacher
    Collateral
    Valkeyrie
    War of the World's
    Minority Report
    Vanilla Sky

And those are just from the last few years. Let's not go back to his 80's and 90's films which would cover another dozen or so awesome movies he's done. Is he the best actor in the world? No, I wouldn't even put him in a tops list, but he does make some of the best films out there and he's a very good actor who never mails it in.

By the way I saw on IMDB that there's going to be a Jack Reacher part 2 which is gooood news in my book.
