Certainly, El Terrible also digs the winning gloves. It may have made a difference with baldomir I don't know, but not De La Hoya.

I still have a hard time believing that stink fest that was the baldomir fight was entirely down to gloves :D

I agree. I think Williams is the toughest fight for Mayweather, then Cotto.

I look at different things than you do. It's not one punch power that scares me...it's workrate and toughness.

For example, if I had to choose, I would much rather fight a PRIME Hearns than a PRIME Hagler. You see, even though Hearns' punches would hurt more...I at least have the "hope" that I can HURT him somewhat and discourage him. Not so with Hagler.

Floyd can possibly hurt Cotto and potshot him, because of Miguel's dentable chin and deliberate and economical attack. I don't see Floyd hurting Hatton, AT ALL, and Ricky wont give him the luxury of just potshotting him from the outside.

    Floyd will HAVE to fight!!

REED'll B Nervous on FIGHTNIGHT (as Usual),but REED is Pretty Calm about this Matchup...REED had DOUBTS Prior to Floyd vs Genaro Hernandez,Manfredy,Corrales,Castillo II,Zab & DeLa...But Not Floyd-Hatton...

Hatton's OUTGUNNED N Just about Every Regard Here...He MIGHT B Stronger than Floyd, but Floyd Doesn't Grapple on the Inside Anyways...He's Probably a Better Bodypuncher than Floyd, but U Need a Relatively STATIONARY Target to Body Punch Effectively...

    Sure,Hatton has Speed,but Floyd has FOUGHT & BEAT Speed...Corley,Zab,DeLa,Sharmba...

REED Can See Hatton Winning the Early Rounds w/his Aggression, but Floyd's Gonna Eventually TIME Hatton as he Leaps N w/those Shots...

1nce Floyd is COUNTERING Hatton's Rushes, his Level of Aggression WILL DISSIPATE...Shit,Collazo even Made Hatton's Aggression DIMINISH...

Floyd's Gonna SLICE Hatton like a Thanksgiving Turkey & Either STOP him on Cuts or Win a WIDE UD...

After a few rounds of catching counters and swelling eyes, I don't think Hatton will come at Floyd as much. The best he can hope is to hug Floyd, but a blind Hatton affords Floyd the ability to escape.

As far as with Cotto, Cotto hits hard enough to discourage Floyd from countering. Since Cotto's a harder puncher, Floyd's simply looking to get out of the way rather than potshot his way to victory.

This fight is a total mismatch.

I guess I can't really fault Floyd for taking this fight because of the money, and people want to see it, but this fight is going to be so easy for Floyd that people are going to honestly wonder what they saw in Hatton.

Let's just say this. On December 9th, people are going to be starting thread after thread with a very similar line: Hatton wasn't good, he only beat old champs, Collazo already beat Hatton, so what?, Hatton isn't really a welterweight...

At 147 this fight is already done.

I think I'll pick Hatton. I hope I'll be able to convince myself it's a good pick before fight night. We have 4 months to discuss this match-up and I predict the board will become more polarized as the fight approaches. I've chosen my side, I'm on the Hatton Express!!!

I'll be honest about this even though what I'll type reeks of Donnybrookism, I believe Floyd should be the favourite and will most likely win but I've got this feeling that Hatton will break him up with his constant body attack. No matter if Mayweather wins, I'm sure he'll piss and shit blood the morning after. I'm sure Neil will be able to confirm after the fight.

So the fight is @ 147? Floyd chances are better @ 147 then 140. But I still will go with Hatton. People are focusing too much on the Collazo outcome.

I love your approach to this fight, If I was a bit more dishonest I'd probably use the same. If Floyd wins, no matter how, you called it. If he struggles or loses, you'll laugh at him for losing a fight he couldn't lose. Great stuff, as a hater I like that.:bears:

Double L will probably say he choked him in a prior clinch and that the knock out was the result of that choke. Because we all know it's impossible to KO someone with 10 oz gloves without cheating. (That's how Hatton beat Castillo)

I've only seen a few Floyd fights so, although i know he starts as favourite, the only thing i would say is that whenever Hatton has come into a fight as underdog his performance and energy levels have improved CONSIDERABLY.

I laos think that it is Hatton who has been the real force behind this fight being made; it is him who has pushed and pushed for it. THIS is the fight he wants, and i think this desire will be an advantage to him.

Any of you guys going to Vegas for the fight? I'm currently working on my figures to see if i can fly over for a few days with a mate or two. Always wanted to see a brit fighter in such a big fight.

So you you also think Hatton just gets in his face, forces him to fight, and wears him down for a mid to late stoppage?

Awesome, me too, that's how I feel :bears:
