I thought Marquez won the first fight by a point or two, and lost the second fight by about the same margin.

Those were two extremely close fights, and there was little to choose between the two fighters.

Pacquiao is the most improved fighter in boxing in the last year and has shored up and corrected many technical deficiences that he had.

I spoke to Freddy Roach about some of the mistakes he was making when I saw him after Manny's fight in San Antonio, and he agreed with me and was saying that Manny was coming along well with the improvements as he took Pacquiao back to basic boxing 101 and he has improved tremendously since then.

 

I love it how Pacquiao fans wanna dismis JMM yet they know this year alone Pacquiao got a razor thin decision against him. Yet The Diaz fight at 135 and the DLH fight at 147 were fucking easy.

The smaller JMM is a better fighter than those two put together. Is not because he is younger. The guy was 4 years older going into the Pacquiao rematch but Pacquiao was 4 years better. Yet it didn't show in the ring.

Marquez sucks acording to Pacquiao fans until they talk about Pacquiao's resume all of a sudden Marquez becomes a great fighter. ::

the fact that Pacquiao/JMM is still being discussed after the Diaz and Oscar fight tells you how irrelevant those fights are in comparison to the JMM fights.

The only fights I would like to see is Pac- Hatton or Mayweather. It's a shame Marquez fans resort to this jelaousy after Pac dismantled fishnets DLH.

 

It is a shame really. It's not Pacquiao's fault that in the lens of boxing history he will be seen as an all-time great who stands alone, while Marquez will have to settle for being defined in terms of PACQUIAO.

First of all when you claim Manny is a one trick pony, is putting JMM on his ass over and over again that one trick? Second of all, Bradley would smack JMM around like a bitch for 12 rounds so I guess it's Manny vs Bradley in a close fight.

 

His one trick is being a powerful puncher. Just ask Barrera, Morales, and JMM. But when it came to boxing JMM schooled the pony for two fights in a row.

first of all the one trick pony comment came after the first fight with Marquez. because all Pacquiao did was throw that left.

hell even Larry Merchant who fucking loves Pacquiao called him that at the time.

After the first Morales fight I noticed improvement in Pacquiao's game. His footwork, his right hand, His body punching.

Of course according to Pacquiao it was the Reyes gloves that made the difference go figure. I guess he wanted to stick to that excuse as to why Morales beat him the first time ::

Jus compare Pacquiao's skills now to what he was in the first JMM fight you can see the difference like night an day.

That means Mariconquez got dropped 4 times by a one dimensional fighter. And that same fighter has gotten more dimensions to his style now.

 

here is an easy question for you. Why didn't Pacquiao stop Marquez after 3 straight knockdowns?

or better yet why didn't he score more knockdowns during the fight?

because JMM came out to agressive and paid for it. He made adjustments and still won more rounds.

in the rematch marquez was an old man past his prime remember? while Pacquiao was so much improved. that didn't reflect the fight which was a razor thin decision.

Why bother asking questions if you're going to answer it yourself in the same post? Ask the referee why he didn't stop the fight after the 3 knockdowns in the opening round. Who said Marquez was an old man? You must mistake me for someone else, perhaps I called him blockhead because of the stupid move to fight Chris John, but thats it.
After the payday Pacman got against DLH he doesn't need to fight Joto Mariconquez anyhow, it is Joto who needs and clings to the Pac fight. These 2 fighters are at different weights anyhow. Get over it.

If you go back in history I'm one of the few Tito fans that had him losing the fight. Oscar deserved to lose more than Tito deserved to win. They both deserved to be shot!!!
