Ok, now I see your point.

I guess we could put it down to general dissapointment, because in Klitschko (sans 2002-2004) we had a heavyweight whom was reasonably exciting in his own way. He tended to work hard to finish fights...or he was finished in them himself. He endeared himself to fans that way and thats the time period wher ehe earned his die-hard fans that are still around now.

Now, I'm not saying that was better for him as a fighter. Obviously it wasn't, and since Emanuel has came aboard and turned him into a boring turd...he's improved and has greatly decreased the chances an opponent has against him. For Wlad, thats the main thing I guess.

Still...I can't help but feel dissapointed in whats become of him.

Ibragomiv did all he could. He wasn't good enough to dictate that fight, or change the pace. When he tried, Wlad held. When he didn't try...Wlad jabbed and did nothing else. I can't see a way not to blame the dominant fighter in this one.

It was a bit disappointing. I had expected it would take Klitschko a while to get comfortable with Ibragimov, perhaps several rounds longer than it took against Brock, I didn't think it would be this bad.

I thought he might salvage the "performance" after that questionable non-knockdown, and that maybe he could finish him off and that it might at least fall into the McCline range of wins.

    I reiterate.

Tonight, me and my GF watched the fights. And you know what she says she saw? Duddy got a robbery and, despite me hyping the fight as best I could, a truly TERRIBLE HW title unification fight.

That shows boxing in what kind of light?

I hate to say it, but tonight was :shit:. They even booed it in the garden...

Agreed. That was a pretty poor call on that missed knockdown as well.

I doubt Wlad's next fight is this shitty. Hopefully it's another unification...but if not, I'd like to see him fight Valuev.

You call my GF a 'bitch'? Who the fuck are you? I don't mean to be all Karl and all, but who the fuck are you? Stupid disrespectful cunt. :warning:

You thought that fight was a good fight?

That fight was shit. I brought my missus up because, like most boxing fans, I want to get others involved in this sport I love. And tonight didn't help. At all.

I reiterate. You call my girl again (a bitch), and I'll happily smash your fucking head off...

If you want to get other people involved in boxing, you should give them tapes of great fights that have already happened.

That's the way I got a number of friends into boxing.

If you take your chances with a live fight, it's better to be a pay per view than a one-fight card on HBO...especially one where there were real chances it wasn't going to be a great action fight.

I have bro. I'm English, so she's seen Benn - Eubank (I and II), Benn v Watson, Benn v G-Man, lots of Lewis, Hatton and Calzaghe fights BUT she wanted to know why I'm so up for the next few weeks.

    The answer?

    Enzo v Haye
    Rees v Kotelnik
    Khan v Kristiansen
    Hopkins v Calzaghe

That doesn't excuse someone calling her 'a bitch'. No excuses...:warning:

What a bunch of whining cunts. We have all the drama needed on this thread we have extreme stupidity:

    1) Foreman may have weighed the same as Ibrigomov but he had a bigger build and was a bigger stronger presence in the ring. Sultan is small and compact. Weight is not the only thing that makes somoene bigger! Oh and Foreman could punch.

    2) Vlad did what he did because he was effective doing it and Barney Rubble could not neutralize it. His jab was a consumate display of skill and he need not KO the guy if he can win the fight without even throwing his right. Ali won fights on his jab... it is not revolutionary.

    3) Vlad, in recent times does not fight to satisfy blood lust, he fights to win fights. As boxing fans the skill of Vlad's jab should be exciting. Ibrigamov is the failure... he was overmatched.

Not saying the fight was great but it was what Vlad had to do to show his dominance over Ibrigamov. Ibrigamov could not even touch Vlad.

Someone (His Royness, a fellow UK poster) calls my girl a bitch. That's fucked up, and totally unacceptable.

    No fucking excuses Tam...:warning:

Lewis had way more killer instinct than Wladimira! Imbumamov would NOT have lasted 12 with a prime Lewis.

Probably correct, Lennox might have tried to finish him and probably could have. However bear in mind that a decision victory is just as worthy.

And to MTF: I have not denied that this was a crappy fight. It was. What I am saying is that these are not crappy heavyweights, it is about styles

And you completely missed the poin there. All I said was that Mosley was a great fighter and udually an entertaining one, but with a stylistically bad opponent he made a terrible fight. Had one of them tried to fight more exciting there, the one probably would have lost worse

vernon forrest made Mayorga boring in the rematch, so im not sure I see the comparison.

Wlad should be ashamed of himself for letting someone as mediocre as Ibagimov turn him into such a bleeding vagina.

If he had an ounce...AN OUNCE of his brother's moxy this fight would've ended early. Instead we have this certified beta running the streets masquerading as a "dominant champion"

to the contrary, i hate the feminine gene rampant in the Klitschko's/RJJ's/ of the world.

If you are that good, have those tools, why are you boxing if you're so damn afraid.

Corrie Sanders RUINED Wlad Klitschko, and u saw it and heard it straight from his mouth afterwards. That tentativeness, that outright fear of being hurt in any way, is not the mark of a great fighter.

Dude, after each fight you come up with that line about the winner/loser :

"(Insert winner/loser's name variation including bum or can here) (wouldn't have lasted)/(would have received a beating) against a prime (Insert retired or old fighter name here)"

    Change the record please.

The pace was slow and preditcable, but it was a dominating performance on the part of Klitschko. I'd say that going completely untouched and dictating the fight is an alpha thing to do. It's not like he was fighting a garbageman. If the point of boxing is to hit the opponent without being hit in return, Klitschko did very well. Maybe someone will die in his next fight.
