it wasnt hard to get the comments, they were in about three different threads. im teaching a course in cultural studies, including stuff on ethnicity and race, so this stuff is food for thought really...

It could be a real slippery slope. I think the more common ones certainly bring the board down to another level. Then there are uncommon ones people don't even know, so how can they be offended?

 

Being fat isn't like being Jewish. It's something that's bad for your health, and something that you should change as possible. I don't think it's okay to insult anyone based on their race or religion at all. It doesn't matter if you're black, white Jewish or Christian. Also, there's a difference between bashing an organized religion such as the Catholic Church and bashing Christians. There's a difference between complaining about the Jews taking over the world than complaining that the Catholic Church is helping spread AIDS.
