Yup, I remember that. Cole is an awful referee. He likes to be on TV too much, but I thought he did fine in the John / Juarez fight.

I'm not sure of his method of grabbing fighters arms and pulling them back whenever holding is going on but it was less distracting then his usual method of inserting himself between the fighters every time they got too close to each other.

 

I like Juan Diaz as a boxer but Xplosive is right. Diaz sounds like a dummy on camera. Maybe he's camera shy when it comes to cutting a promo or interview.

Not that he had much to do but the guy who reffed the Marquez / Diaz fight did a good job of just staying out of the way.

Cole would have found some sort of an excuse to insert himself into the action. He just can't seem to be able to help it.

When Juan Marquez fought Jimrex Jaca, Marquez was cut by a headbutt. Cole told Marquez it was OK if he wanted the fight stopped because he was ahead anyways and the camera caught it.

 

This is true (and terrible action by the ref) but to his credit JMM fought on anyway.

When he got dropped the first time right in front of th emedia and used the ropes to pull himslef up, you could see in his eyes he didn't know where he was, so I am sure he was still confused in that interview, which I didn't see.

He was his usual self at the post fight press conference after he had gotten his wits about him.

 

Call Hatton what you want to but he pretty much does everything better than Diaz.

 

I thought John won the 12th. He won the first minute, lost the 2nd minute big and won the 3rd minute. Not an easy round to score and certainly not laughable, imo.

 

Texas does have a difficult bar exam so we'll see.

 

Double will forever hate Hatton because Ricky KO'd his hero.

And Hatton would do the same damn thing to Diaz. Ricky's left hook to the body would give Juan something to cry about.

Pac WILL take care of Hatton though, but that has nothing to do with how a Hatton-Diaz fight would play out. Ricky would beat the shit outta Diaz.

 

Cole is an excellent referee, imo, who has one very bad black mark on his resume.
