I'll be honest Neil I dont follow the little guys as much as I should. My favorite little guys. Rafael Marquez, Johnny Tapia, Barrera, Morales, Pacquio, Tyson Marquez, Rey Vazquez. Theyre fun to watch and dont get enough exposure. Im guilty of that.

Thanks for reminding me about the Hawaiianpunch. Oh yeah he was fun to watch. Could pack a punch for a little guy.

Seemed entertaining and a bit vulnerable. Probably pick up a title today too.

I remember I was just getting started at S/O when that entire US team of 2000 were turning pro.

Ricky Williams had had a brilliant Olympics, had a real barnburner with the Cuban {42-41}, came home with a Silver medal , signed a £1m signing on deal and.......got fat.

The guy who beat him was Abdullaev and he beat Cotto but Cotto stopped him in the Pros.

Panchito Bojado went the same way for Mexico out of the same Olympics. Just got fat and lost interest.

Rigo won the Bantam title at those Olympics.

Rocky Juarez won Silver and threw precisely 15 punches the whole tournament. Legend has it he is still there with his headguard and big gloves on, in Sydney, getting set to throw a shot.

What got me started on this is that Viloria reminded me of Clarence Vinson, who lost to Rigo at the same games, and had a really brief pro career that went nowhere......He was 17(7)-2 with both losses on points, then disappeared.

That games was sort of the beginning of America having a very pronounced dip with heavyweights {Bennett and Brock were the reps} and having fat lazy fighters.

Almost all of them had really nondescript or tragic pro careers, especially Taylor and Lacy.

Yup I remember all those guys. Ricardo Williams, Francisco Bojado and Jeff Lacy had so much potential. Lacy's story reminded me a little bit of David Reid. In the sense that they got rushed. Too much too soon? Then again I dont see Lacy ever beating Calzague or Reid beating Trinidad. If they lived in these social media days Reed would have called out Trinidad and fought somebody more beatable like Paul Hogan and claim he was being ducked lol.

Reid was intentionally rushed because of his droopy eye.

Lacy wasn't rushed, he was just limited.

Bojado and Williams both had potential, but turned out to be lazy ass cunts.

I dont think Bojado and Williams shortcomings were only due to lazyness. They were rather limited fighters imo

More raw, more aggressive, more power, more personality.

    Southpaw too.
