    Tito empieza a entrenarse

    [IMG] [IMG][IMG] [IMG] [IMG][IMG]
    • Por Luis Santiago Arce / end.larce@elnuevodia.com
    • Admite don Félix que su hijo “ya está trabajando. Está acondicionando su físicoâ€￾.
    <!--dDepotro-->
    <!--Foto--> [IMG] Tito Trinidad a la izquierda en su pelea ante Winky Wright, parece inclinarse a combatir primero con Roy Jones, Jr., luego de hacer un combate preparatorio en enero de 2008.

    <!--Notas Relacionadas--> <!--ultimo comentario--> <!--ultimo comentario fin-->
    <!--dNota2b--> Todavía no hay acuerdos formales y oficiales, pero otra señal de que su regreso es inminente es que ya Félix 'Tito' Trinidad ha iniciado la etapa inicial de su preparación con miras a volver a subir oficialmente a un cuadrilátero a principios del 2008.

    “Ya Tito está trabajando. Tito está acondicionando el físico y se va a mantener corriendo durante ese mes que voy a estar fuera. Cuando yo venga ya va a tener el cuerpo acondicionado para poder empezar con la parte técnica en el gimnasioâ€￾, dijo ayer don Félix Trinidad Rodríguez, padre, entrenador y manejador del 'campeón del pueblo' en el programa Al Día en los Deportes (WIAC 740 AM).

    153La menor cantidad de libras que ha pesado oficialmente Tito Trinidad para una pelea desde el 2000 en adelante. Ese registro lo tuvo para su defensa titular del título junior mediano ante David Reid en marzo del 2000.

    <!--p10.EOF-->
    <!--dCajaFlotante.EOF-->
    <!--dFlotantes.EOF--> Don Félix, quien hoy partirá de vacaciones a México, reveló que su hijo debe estar rondando las 190 libras, que no deben ser problemas para su anticipado regreso, mucho menos si en efecto se cuadra que sea para un combate frente a Roy Jones Jr., en un peso de 170.

    Tito, quien ya tiene 34 años de edad, se retiró por segunda ocasión en mayo del 2005 horas después de ceder su cetro mediano, 160 libras, ante Ronald 'Winky' Wright en Las Vegas.

    “No lo he visto en una báscula, pero él mismo (Tito) me dice que anda en unas 187 ó 189 libras, y esas no son suyas. Esas las va dejando poco a poco, pero hay que trabajar y sé que debe caer lo mejor posibleâ€￾, subrayó Trinidad Rodríguez, sin mayor preocupación por los riesgos a la salud que podría enfrentar el orgullo de Cupey Alto en su regreso al pugilismo.

    “Lo enfrentamos corriendo y buscando la mejor condición posible que pueda tener para que cuando se meta a un cuadrilátero esos golpes le lleguen lo menos posible, y los que puedan llegar, que el cuerpo se los pueda asimilarâ€￾, agregó.

    Rechazó, asimismo, que la inactividad de casi tres años, al momento de volver a pelear, pueda afectar a Tito en su reaparición boxística, preliminarmente señalada para enero próximo.

    “El trabajo se hace en el gimnasio. Ese moho que pueden tener los boxeadores, que todos lo cogen y ahora mismito Tito debe tenerlo, hay que dejarlo en el gimnasioâ€￾, dijo.

    For all non-spanish speaking ppl, Trinidad is starting to train. He's weighing 190 lbs, his return bout will most likely be against Roy Jones at 170 lbs. He's fucked up :doh:

    Not sure if it's that bad of a plan, the "contract" weight will be @ 170 firm. Jones will also be 39 and if Glen Johnson can KHTFO i'd give Trinidad the same chance.
    Now Jones at 34 Tito gets smashed but this gun shy Jones nah plus he has to beat Hanshaw first and we have to see if he can do that first.
    If he crushes Hanshaw Tito might say fuck that i'm staying on the couch.

    Why ROY JONES? What the fuck will that prove? Roy is irrelevant...if Trinidad is 190...and will be coming in at 170 in his first fight back..why not take on the winner of Hopkins vs. Winky? :dunno:and his power at 170 will be SHIT...he needed 8 rounds to stop Mayorga...and that was target practice, Mayo was a human punching bag...:notallthere:..trying to set up a fight against 168 champs is useless cause those cunts won't come over to the states to fight.....

    If he loses, he'll have an excuse. Same for Tito. They'll make loads of cash in an irrelevant fight.

    Don't think that fight is happening anymore. Vargas is a HW now, and an actor.

    Tito is WAY TOO SMALL for any weight above 160. I don't even think he's that big of a middleweight let alone fighting at 168 or above. If that indeed is the plan, then he'd minus well stay in retirement because he's gonna get whacked.

    Yeah I don't know what the point of Tito knocking the shit out of Roy is going to serve. I fear for Roy's health.

    Trinidad should fight Miranda in his first comeback fight...or a champion like Sturm or Abraham.

    Trinidad return confirmed!
    Don Felix Trinidad, father and trainer of former world champion Felix 'Tito' Trinidad has confirmed the return of his famous son -- and announced that Roy Jones Jr. is now preferred option as an opponent. Papa Trinidad stated on Puerto Rican radio station WIAC that Team Trinidad has accepted in principle the proposal presented by Don King last week, subject to purse and opponent. According to the elder Trinidad, he was informed by King that Jones Jr. is interested in fighting Tito.:doh:

    They need to include a special clause in the contract.
    In the case of a Roy Jones win Carlos Guzman is not allowed to close down Fightbeat.com.

    They are saying that because they know that Hanshaw is going to beat Jones. Everybody knows that. Tito will comeback and fight a simple fighter who he can easily control with his power. The he will fight somebody who he shouldn't be fighting, lose, and retire again. This will happen ever 2 years until he's 60

    since when did Handshaw become this force? jones wouldnt have taken this fight unless he knew he was gonna win.

    i'd personally rather see tito vs. taylor, spinks, or calzaghe. he'd get whupped by all three.

    Hanshaw is too big of a risk with a tito fight out there.
    Roy is developing back problems as we discuss this topic.

    I agree with my cousin, after reviewing the top 10 fighters @160 and above I think Tito at this stage of his career should stay in the couch chilling.

    The only "top" fighter around these weights that Tito has a chance against is Taylor.
