dsimon writes: I agree with Sly and CYC. Basically Roy has a better chance in the fight but comeback wise Tito has a much better chance. Tito is not shot, he just got embarrassed against the Wink. Wink is that good and Tito? Well it showed the need he has to make some adjustments. Whether he can or not will determine whether he becomes like Vargas or like De La Hoya. Vargas, who came up with skills and means (watch his early fights)decided at some point to become a puncher and simply got outboxed and outgunned after that point. De La Hoya found a way to keep his punch but to use his boxing skills when needed to beat a puncher... Like he did against Vargas. Tito will always be considered a great puncher but to go on from here and win he simply needs to be able to beat a guy with a jab. Jones is not a good fight for Tito in this respect because he is hoping to catch Roy with a big punch. Roy can probably (at this weight) avoid a big punch from Tito.
:: Good answer! Roy wins the fight.. Roy wins the battle.. or does he ?? I think if Tito looks anything better than completely shot, then we'll see him back in the ring again. Then again, it hasn't mattered how he looked in the past and we've always seen him back:dunno:
Tito fans are pretty funny here. I know you gotta have faith in your countrymen but you gotta be realistic. Tito has no advantages in this fight. Its just a case of if Roy goes for the KO or if he wants to go 12 rounds and win by shutout.
Tito wasn't even bigger then Winky Wright. Don't worry ill be right here when Roy is landing check hooks and lead right hands on lil Tito's grill when ever he feels like it. Tito hasn't won a damn fight since September 04 and that will still be the case on January 20.
Not sure when this pic was taking but both guys look to be in decent shape, and they still got like 3 weeks to go.
I read a few weeks ago an Interview Roy had with Boxingtalk.com he is like 180lb, I think he fibbing he looks close to fighting weight in that pic, but I could be wrong.
Was PM'ing a writer over at Doghouse and he told me that a member within Roy's own camp is greatly concerned over Roy having to make 170. He also said that the camp member is picking Tito to win because 1) he doesn't like what he sees in Roy's training and 2)Jones' ability to take a punch at this point. The writer could not reveal who this so-called camp insider is but take it for what it's worth.
