Did you even see the fight?
before you make that statement go watch the 9th round of that again, and see also the beating Camacho took and kept throwin punches, even though it was a materpiece, that fight showed Camacho's heart..

Can't say that I blame them for that. Boxing has countless fighters who ended up broke, injured or worse. And 30's is old for a boxer, but still young in the real world. Too many of these guys end up with no money, education and/or marketable skills which means their life is bound to suck after they hang up the gloves.

If today's fighters have recognized this and don't want the same for themselvers...then good for them.

Yeah, I saw the fight, and I was completly disappointed in Camacho who I was a fan of at the time. Of course this was way back when it actually happened so I'm not going to sit here and be able to argue with you about what happened in such&such rd.

Still though, you going to tell me Camacho put up the same effort against Chavez that he did when he was considered a possible future all time great, and was dominating bums? Fuck no, he had long since stopped fighting like a future great.

People think Judah showed heart in the Cotto fight but much like with Camacho I don't give credit for just standing there and taking a beating and being too scared to fight back. I don't recall if that's what Camacho did, but he definitely didn't use the talent and skills he had against Chavez, because that fight would have been way more competitive.

Camacho tried, but Chavez was an unstoppable juggernaut that night. He didn't let him breathe nor think. (besides that, it was widely known that Camacho was having substance abuse problems and legal problems even before the fight...he had lost his title and undefeated record to Gregg Haugen just two fights prior to Chavez).
