Golota's a headcase. He doesn't count. :giggle: Besides that fight was a draw if I remember.

You're talking like Golota beat Byrd. It was a draw, and a robbery of a draw at that. And that was a Golota that was well past it to begin with.

Morrison, too much offense for a guy like Byrd who wouldn't be able to make tommy respect him

Byrd would be like "I got Jesus and all you got is AIDS" and Tommy would just break down and weep.

Morrison's offense was not all that and his pace dropped dramatically after four rounds

Byrd's offense was essentially non-existent and he beat a total of zero good contenders in their prime... every single decent hard puncher who let his hands go beat Byrd

Yes, I am only pointing out that Morrison also beat zero prime contenders and never defeated a useful boxer, that's why I see this pretty much 50:50 fight with Morrison early, Byrd late

Foreman was nothing, if not a real contender when Morrison comprehensively outboxed him... thats a bigger win than anything Byrd ever did... Byrd's lone win over a useful contender happened when said contender injured his arm after using it over and over again to beat Byrd's ass

Frankly, I don't see that big a difference between the Foreman Morrison beat and the Tua Byrd defeated. Foreman was probably better, but he also was not the most difficult guy to outbox, and in my opinion that fight doesn't tell us too much about this considering Morrison would not try to box here.

So this is the criteria now for making picks in mythical matchups? If neither fighter beat a prime contender or "useful boxer" it's automatically a 50:50 fight?

well considering that one of them had this crazy thing called a jab, I'd say the difference was pretty significant... I would emphatically endorse that Foreman to knock Byrd senseless

No, those were separate. Since neither has a convincing victory that would tell us anything definitive about this fight, then it comes down to other things. Morrison is dangerous early and Byrd could be hurt even though he was difficult to KO. However Morrison faded quick and if he does not get the KO early, then it's very likely Byrd will take over for the rest of the fight. I see the chance for these scenarios being about 50:50, with perhaps a slight edge to Tommy
