This is modern heavyweight fighting. When one punch does big damage, clever people usually fight more carefully

    That was fucking shit

Make no bones about it. Wlad is a BUM. He fought a guy who couldn't hurt him in a TRILLION years, and he daren't throw more than three right hands in the whole fight.

And people have Wlad top ten P4P

Lewis would have killed Wlad. In fact, he'd STILL kill him. This is the worst crop of heavies ever. I've tried and tried and tried to stick with it, but I refuse to do so anymore.

    Absolute shite. Mustard was right...

    He's even worse.

I swear. Lennox is 40-odd, but if he came out of retirement, he'd unify the whole division in 18 months. Simply because he can throw a right hand. That's all it takes right now.

    Heavyweight division= :shit:

What, when he said this? "I'd squat over both of their faces and drop a shit on both of them."

If this fight changed your perception of anything, then you are behind the curve. Personally, I think Wlad is superb and a p4p guy if you want to call him that. This fight changed nothing and was fairly predictable.

This is how Wlad has fought lately. He doesn't force ko's, they just happen. tonight, it didn't just happen...so safe, easy win.

Exactly. Like some of these same comments weren't said after Lewis-Tua.

Like I said before....Ibragimov is a very cagey, resilient fighter. I knew that it would be tough to knock him out. Wlad just fought a technical fight and beat him with ease.

In fact I thought it during the fight that the bouts looked pretty similar. Of curse Sultan is n Tua and thus Wlad perhaps shouldn't have been as careful, but he won all the rounds. Exciting fighter doesn't always win

exactly why he's a boring cunt who no one cares about. I was flipping back and forth and in the end preferred watching a replay of a high school basketball game that was a 20pt blowout instead of this trash fight.

    Are you on drugs????

My GF, who is NO kind of boxing fan, came to mine tonight for the first big BOXING event she ever watched and thought it 'total bollocks'. In fact, she says 'that big dude was a total wimp'.

What FUCKS me off is that I was really psyched for the action tonight. It was a HEAVYWEIGHT UNIFICATION FFS!!

I never rated Wlad. In fact, I've always said he's the best of a TERRIBLE bunch. Now I'm sure of it. Fuck him, and fuck the HW division generally.

Bring on Haye v Enzo in a fortnight...

That was a HW unification bout. The first of the Millenium.

That's a major bout. Regardless of the protagonists.

It should have been better than it was. Sultan was out of his depth but he survived, because Wlad allowed it. A proper champ would not have done so.

Dsimon, you are a knowledgeable man, and I love you and all, but come on. That bout was garbage. No spin can change that. The Duddy fight was MILES better. That was a terrible advert for our sport man.

Don't get me wrong- the PURIST might have found merit in it. But it wasn't the purists watching tonight. It was the casual observers. And they were booing...

yes it was garbage. it was garbage because Ibrigamov was overmatched. Vlad did not want to risk getting cracked with a big shot because he didn't have to. Thats just fighting smart. Ibrigamv was incapable of making Vlad have to do anything else because he was target practice for the jab.

Anyway The Oleg Peter fight will be better and produce a puncher! Taht fight will be better. I actually think Oleg could be a threat... He is this generations Jim Braddock!

Do you remember how lackluster Lewis-Holyfield I was?

And that was a pay per view fight between two future HOF's with tremendous hype surrounding it.

If so, why was Wlad so frightened of getting hit?

And re-watch the fight. How many Jabs did Wlad ACTUALLY land? How many more than 20 was it?

Like Mitchell said about Lennox.... sometimed fighters fight smart, they don't take risks they don't need to.

 I wont be watching that again any time soon.

I appreciate that there is a need to FIGHT smart sometimes. But there should always be a need to FIGHT. Wlad didn't do that- he simply spent 12 rounds pawing away a jab for a guy half his height...
