Tito could fight Wright 100 times and probably not win once.

Who cares what these "experts" say. I read on breitbart that Trinidad got specially made gloves to hide anvils.

Wright always beats Trinidad. Christ, I don't even hate Tito but I didn't realise how fucking overrated the guy was in here

    Exactly.

It's like saying Hatton would have beaten Pacquiao a few years earlier

How anyone could watch that fight and think Tito would win in a million years is beyond me. Tres, tres disappointed in big steve.

I think 2000 Trinidad beats Wright in a close fight. 7-5 type score, split decision.

Roy always beats Tito for sure. And if we are talking the 95-96 Roy, he stops Tito in similar fashion the way he did Bryant Brannon. Roy was just super human at 168. The definition of UNBEATABLE...

There is absolutely nothing to suggest Tito would have beaten Wright other than wishful thinking.

Trinidad was very hesitant in the wright fight. younger tito would have blasted those shots on Wright's arms all night.

That's more Jabs than Hopkins landed on Wright.

After watching their fight, I can't see Trinidad beating Wright, even at 154 in 2000. Tito fares better but still drops a clear decision.

Same thing with Hearns-Duran, which is an even worse style matchup for Duran (size too) than Winky is for Tito. No matter how great Duran looked against Palomino and Leonard in Montreal, I can't pick him over Hearns at 147.

Ex-fucking-actly. The guy got dominated from start to finish and made to look like a clueless scrub. Tito actually did a lot better against Jones. Wright clowned him.

To think any version of Tito would beat Wright is baseless and just insane, I mean there was literally nothing in their fight to suggest any Tito could have any success against Wright, or a realistic chance of winning. Wright's style shut Tito down 100%.

Duran would have beaten Hearns if only the fight was a couple of years earlier, honest! He would have beated him!

If they had fought a rematch four months later, I think Tito would have made the improvements needed and would have used his fine jab and movement to outpoint Wright

    :atu:

Based on what? What would he have done differently, in the face of a style that completely shut him down, and gave him no opportunity to land anything?

Thinking any version of Tito beats Wright, is seriously one of the dumbest things I've ever read on Fightbeat. It's the sort of thing that I'd expect from only a handful of Puerto Ricans, who hadn't seen the fight, and barely watch boxing.

Irrelevant. We're talking about good Trinidad, not bad 2005 Trinidad.

It's the same Trinidad. Tito Vs Oscar, Tito Vs Hopkins, Tito Vs Wright and Tito Vs Jones, it's the same guy. He just doesn't do very well against good fighters his own size. He was only 32 against Wright, and coming off a win that had Tito groupies salivating.

His fight against Mayorga means fuck all. Mayorga was comeback fight designed to make Tito look good. Tito landed like 65% of his shots. That was not a serious tuneup for a fight against wright. Tito was fat and timid in that fight.

He weight 170 damn pounds??? No way!

OMG, that is almost unheard of, a fighter putting on 10 pounds after the weigh in, have any of you guys heard of this happening before??
