    Greatest show of all time, just finished it... Some thoughts

    It made sense that Omar would only die being shot by the last type of person he'd expect. I also dug the symbolism of his being totally anonymous to the M.E. despite being this legendary figure in his immediate environment, especially juxtaposed with the exaggerated tales of his death told by the random people on the street... Michael forced to become a lone wolf and the new Omar made sense, too

    Marlo being literally handed everything Stringer tried forever to get but finding no use for it was a great ironic point. Cheese getting shot dead by Slim Charles was great...

    I liked McNulty's mock bar wake

    the show didn't give a bunch of bullshit happy endings... Bubbles, Daniels and Pearlman came out alright but Lester and McNulty had mixed results, Dookie and Randy had awful ends... Mostly they showed that shit never changes... Carcetti and Rawls, Valchek, The Greek and Vondas, The crooked reporter, they all get what they wanted from playing games, just as it is in real life... To me, the legacy of this show is that holds up a mirror to our monumentally fucked up society with no sugar and no filter, it's the truest representation of our country certainly ever committed to film... Fucking brilliant show

    First two seasons back in the day but then I moved to a different spot and didn't have HBO so I missed all the rest... It was a pretty good show, I thought... I remember the big characters, Beecher, McManus, Schillinger, Ryan O'Reilly, Adebisi and I remember Detective Stabler being an explosively violent, explosively gay dude... Beyond that, Didn't see anything but snippets here and there

    Hard for you to say that only watching a few seasons. I think Oz is a 9/10 show. Not as good as Wire, but in terms of quality, it's high up there on the all time list.

    To be fair, someone that hasnt seen the show all the way thru shouldnt have an opinion on it. To me, the show got better in the later seasons.

    I agree it fell off badly and I also agree it seemed to coincide right when Adibise died. I loved Oz but it got to the point where I couldn't even watch it anymore. I think it was killed off from bad ratings after it started to suck rather than being allowed to finish, but that's just a guess.
