:: Tyson himself said it: he has no life skills. Zero life skills. But that doesn't excuse rampant, outright theft.
Indeed Don King's continued existence puts Sly's insistance that there is a god into serious question
It's a crying shame that Tyson allowed it to happen. How could Tyson not have known what Don King was doing with his money. Tyson spoke perfect english and he could read contracts. He openly admitted he just signed whatever Don King put in front of him. And he knew, being a student of the game that the business was filled with crooks and criminals of the worst kind who tried to f*ck fighters over and steal their money. He knew Don King was a murderer and a criminal of the worst kind.
I wouldn't blame Tyson at all for not being financially shrewd but I would definitely blame him for putting ALL his trust into a man whom HE BLOODY WELL KNEW was a motherf*cking criminal and a complete scum. Tyson wasn't a fool in that regard. His mentor educated him on the types of people he should stay away from. It's one thing for Tyson to be screwed by King. But what's upsetting is Tyson signing anything and everything the criminal put in front of him and also not taking responsibility for his own finances. At least READ a contract before you sign it! At the least! Even hire your own damn lawyer if you need to.
cdogg's posts are funny. He's desperately trying to void any type of responsibility expected from Tyson. cdogg talks like Tyson was borderline retarded who couldn't think, eat or talk without assistance.::
again, you greatly underestimate the skills of manipulation that have allowed Don King to be DON KING for the past 40 years... He latches onto these guys and they fall for it, every bit of it, the quasi-afro-centrism ("it's us against the man, young brother!") coupled weirdly with the super-capitalist flag-waving nonsense... he convinces these guys he is their friend... young, naive kids who don't know any better... Again, you are applying "Common Sense" in the world of an educated person to a guy who would have been in and out of jail his whole life if it weren't for his ability to smash people's faces in
Not true at all There's nothing desparate at all. I'm making sensible observations about Tyson and King You are making sweeping generalizations and "here's what I would do" criticisms coupled with exclamation points and hyperbole
Tyson is a far more humane and reliable individual than Don King. Mike never stamped anyone to death.
Indent think King "stamped" anyone to death either I mean how do youneven do that? Put stamps all over them?
He Mainly PISTOL WHIPPED the Guy, but THEN he STOMPED him a Bit as Well, when Dude Fell to the Ground... REED:dancingBaby:
Ramone, please Believe me, I've been as critical of Tyson as anyone over the years. The guy wasn't exactly built to handle that kind of exposure.
seriously It's funny for me to be in here acting as Tyson's defense attorney while he is on trial for the crime of life mistakes, seeing as how I've always been a pretty big detractor... but honestly, truth is truth, to act as if it is somehow surprising for a guy with mike Tyson's background/upbringing/vulnerabilities to make poor decisions, especially financial ones, is absurd
Hanzy's posts in this thread are hilarious Tyson was beating the shit out of grown men as a 12 year old and according to Rooney and Atlas "could benchpress more than his own weight of 200 lbs" as an amateur fighter in his teens
