I don't wanna hear anymore recency bias bullshit than this guy could have beaten any greats.

I've always said he was overrated.

He gets fuckin washed by an Ali, Louis, Lewis, Tyson, Foreman, Liston, Holmes, ect.

Is it too soon to say that we might not see Fury vs Usyk this December? I think Fury himself knows that Usyk is going to mess him up badly should they fight in the ring. Expect another "retirement" or delay.

I’m expecting a 6-7 month delay…won’t fight till the summer.
In the meantime Usyk should look into fighting Ngannou….

I believe it makes a huge difference with Fury when he is on and off - he is unprofessional that way.

He half-assed against Wallin and struggled - bit later he shone against Wilder. Same against McDermott early in his career.

If and when he fights Usyk, he will take it seriously and I still expect him to win

Agreed. People aren't angry with Fury because he lost, they're angry because he allowed his own shitty way of doing things to drag the sport into the mire.....Ali getting kicked by that Japanese wrestler didn't look too clever either.

He now owes us a rematch on FREE TV with Ngannou. He needs to either ICE or WHITEWASH that guy now and put this crap to bed.

    Not even for a second.

The last big fight that took place on Christmas was Balboa vs Drago.

Fight Ngannou. Fix the judges, look shit, get paid.

Say you got cut, hurt etc.

Cancel Usyk fight. Not your fault.

Let me ask you a serious question. Give me 3 good reasons why Fury would want to duck Usyk?

From my point of view Fury had a trilogy with Wilder who at the time was considered the hardest puncher in the division. So Fury doesn't strike me as a guy that would be scared of fighting anyone let alone an under powered former cruiser weight. On the flip side I could see this being more of a business decision. Usyk being a high risk low reward type of fight. I don't personally think Usyk could win but let's say he does. How does that make him look. Beaten by a smaller man.

Agreed, Fury is garbage but he s big garbage lol Usyk is decently skilled but pretty pedestrian himself. He s nowhere near this brilliant boxer some try to sell him imo. Fury will probably use his size to maul him or control him in a typical hw trash fight.

Yeah, this is the thing. Even if Fury had genuinely won but gone the distance, or if he'd been knocked down and come back to stop Ngannou, or just didn't get a complete domination, it looks bad for the sport. Let alone actually losing. You can't really make a defence against it either. People bring up Patterson-Rademacher, yes the knockdown was embarrassing but Patterson did beat the shit out of him after he got up. Also, Rademacher was an Olympic gold medallist and a decorated amateur boxer, Ngannou has ZERO boxing experience of any note, it's embarrassing.

After last Saturday's ''performance'' it's hard to even argue he'd be more than a gatekeeper/fringe contender in a decent era, let alone beating certified ATG. Hell I'm not even sure he beats Valuev. Two barely skilled goons who'd lean and maul at each other...

100% agreed. Patterson just fighting Rademacher, an Olympic gold medalist, is seen as a stain on his career, even though he handled him quite easily. This is beyond embarrassing..

I’m actually shocked at the little gloating being done by the mma community. This was the best HW vs best HW on boxings terms and…well.. you know. I get why people think this is embarrassing, but I don’t see it as embarrassing. These mma guys are being trained by pro boxing trainers as well as pro grapplers. FN has hands, but it’s more than that, he hits like a fucking truck. MMA is legit fellas. Welcome to what we knew years ago. And fuck off with your responses, I ain’t reading’em. lol

Agreed. The cowardly Wlad legitimised Fury and Fury lived off that. Even though that was a crappy performance from both. Possibly the shittest title fight of all time where virtually nothing happened and nobody deserved to win. Wilder being complete shit and still managing to drop him multiple times then had to legitimise Wilder who is losing to asbolute bums in every extended fight he has until he lands one telegraphed punch. What a shit division.

It's not just Fury the current "linear champ" who did not live up to expectations but part of the credit should be go to the evolving landscape of MMA striking. Maybe some boxing fans hold an outdated view of MMA. I saw many comments here on FB pre-Fury vs. FN where FN's pad work and punching technique were mocked lol. I'm glad some boxing fans are starting to recognize that these athletes are sparring with world-class boxers and benefit from the guidance of elite boxing trainers like Freddie Roach and many others. The era of UFC 1 resembling more of a circus than a legitimate sport is a distant memory.

This is supposed to be the biggest heavyweight fight in quite some time yet I have ZERO interest in it... boxing is not what it used to be when it's 2 undefeated champions fighting and I couldn't care less (definitely doesn't help when one was ko'ed by a body shot in his last fight and the other arguably lost to a mma fighter making his boxing debut) ... but even so... I just know it will be some boring jab, grab, clinch, wrestle, run type of a bullshit fight and ain't nothing exciting about that... don't even care to watch it at all.... nevermind talk and post about it in threads for months leading up to it..
